OK, I have a little mini project going on.

I have owned this bike for a couple of years now, and its the cheapest/easiest way for me to get from the new flat in town to work.

Looks like this, so certainly not the (IMO) ugly conventional jap scooter:

I have started upgrading parts, because its so easy and cheap.
Things done so far:
- lightweigt rollers
- Stiffer clutch spring
- new drivebelt
- new aftermarked ZeroRacing Expansion chamber (Fucking loud)

I have a couple of goodies on the way:
-A 21mm carb to upgrade form the standard 12mm carb.

and the best thing yet (coming from Germany):
A Liquid Cooled 70CC Stage6 Racing Cylinder/piston kit :D

Was that you riding down Murphy St this morning? if so, that pipe sounds pretty good.

hahaha, yeah that would have been me.
I'm getting real sick of how loud it is and it seems to piss off ALOT of pedestrians!

It seems to be getting louder each time I ride it, so if the new cylinder kit doesn't sort it, I'll get the exhaust repacked, or get a new exhaust.

(Sorry to anyone on here around wellington that the noisy POS has annoyed.)

You don't need to say, "Don't ask why" - we know the answer: Because I Can.

That looks real funky..love it! and with the mods, she'll be a right little beast!!

Good on you and have fun!

Yeah, should be alot of fun when done. :scooter:

Bike stands out around welly, I dont think anyone else has one. there used to be another Aerox down here, but haven't seen it in a long while.

Feel free to wave/yell/beep/pull the fingers whenever you see me riding around. :)

Looks like an awesome project friend!

I love to see other guys squeezing all they can out of the small displacement 2-strokes.

From the looks of your dome, I bet it is going to have some wicked compression for sure If they set your squish tight! :Punk:

Fine looking ride Aerox50...

Hey mate, just googled aerox 50, thats a pretty hot looking scoot. It should be a real monster when its done. Will it look modded when finished or are you going to have a sleeper bike?

Aerox50
5th July 2007, 16:31
Will probably leave it as a sleeper. although there are some great aftermarket panels/lights, etc available for it! :)

and 'IamCornholio' the kit came with a whole heap of different head gaskets to change the squish clearance, so I'll get the guys fitting it to sort that for me hopefully :)

I'll keep this thread updated, and for any interested guys in Wellington, I'm more than happy to show it off, etc after all the work is done :)

Cheers for the support guys and girls!

Awesome, sounds like a scoot could be seeing to a few (slightly) bigger bikes at the lights!!

Awsome stuff, Now you can top it off with a high speed pulley kit. btw have you cut the rev limiter wire from the CDI yet?

What next? a NOS cannister in your seat storage haha

I tend to agree with that for sure... (could be seeing to a few (slightly) bigger bikes at the lights!!)

Definitely going to be some other riders looking at the 'back' of your scooter Aerox50. :shit:

I would suggest getting a few cool stickers for back there soas that they have something to read while they try to catch up...

I have a scooter project in mind, which is to combine a water cooled 50 or 70 cc 4 stroke motor with a honda dio fuel injected head and turbo it. The scooter would have to have a frame shaped in such a way that would allow a radiator and turbo to fit on.

Havent cut the rev limiter yet, not sure which wire it is

Nos is easy to do and is POSSIBLY next on the agenda, a sneaky pete nos kit will do the trick :)

I have 1 other thing to sort out before the kit gets fitted, the intake manifold, hopefully I can get one into the country in time, but its not looking likely, so might have to delay the fitment :crybaby:

Heh, Just bouncing ideas, don't ask why for this one either, I don't even know myself why I would want a scooter thats faster than my motorcycle :slap:

Fuck mate why not just get a CR 80 motor and fit it!!

Fuck mate why not just get a CR 80 motor and fit it!!

Go back to NZicemag. :P

Got a reasonable deal on the parts and 70cc is close enough to 80cc anyway.
Hopefully this will do better than a CR80 motor.

and its a lot easier to use a bolt on 70cc kit than shoe-horn in a whole new/different shaped motor.

Have managed to quieten the exhaust down a bit by re-packing the silencer. Not so worried about cops now

The Carb I got wont quite fit, so I'm planning on getting a 19mm Dellorto.

If anyone in Wellington has the experience and tools to fit and tune everything (and wants do do it ), it'd be much appreciated! bit of $$ in it for you too, considering I was quoted $300 by a motorbike shop.
