one thought I do have is about grouping. How are we going to sort out (sub)groups for riding? Or has Quasi thought of that as well?

What sub group bussiness is this. We all ride our own pace and there is bound to be someone riding the same as you, we will have maps so start out as a group and have meeting points along the way. Well i suppose that is what will happen  :bleh:

Ermmm.. its more about how faster riders will zoom off, mid speed riders will be 2nd, then there will be people cruising. Seeing that there is this many people we are not going to ride in one big massive groups are we? cause that is a traffic hazzard. so if we have the options of a few groups that people are welcome to choose & change, it will be much much easier to keep track of members / head count and they don't get left behind (I know I know, don't u quote Sat :P)

Quasi has thought of this as well and decided that he doesnt want to think about trying to keep control of 60 people, to hard, No speed groups or head counts etc.
I have maps for every one to navigate with so its up to you.
However, I suggest that people no familiar with the area follow me until the western By pass turn off.
I wouldnt worry about it to much I doubt you will loose sight of another biker ,and also the support vehicle will be behind the last guy anyway so if lost wait.

You're going on a bit of a tiki-tour to get there eh - over a few hills instead of just SH1? Still got to see when I'll be heading up - either will you fellas (if I can keep up, but if you're 2 up it shouldn't be too bad I guess) or with the earlier group (CSL, Stonechucker, Jazbug, etc...)

Hay Cherie,
I would be keen on joing up for a group ride down to hamilton. Since we have to be there around 10:30, we'll probly have to leave Auckland around 9 / 8:30? Going down on SH22 depends on how big a day you want I suppose... as you still have around 3xx odd k's to ride that day :P

And if it was wet the night before it might be a bit damp?

Well its gonna be a hell of a day riding (umm bearing in mind it 80 odd kms to Papakura Autobahn for moi) ...me thinks SH22 to start may be just a bit much for this old gal. So I was planning to head strait done H1...ok boring
but there ya go. Maybe organise summit closer the day with anyone keen :spudwave:

I heard that a sheep skin rug does the trick. according to the "rusty nut" website. Or a :doctor: might do the trick! aya!

I found the sheep skin fantastic on my South Island trip it gave me around an extra 100km ride before I had to hop off, it soaks up the small vibrations that accelerate the numb bum syndrome. Also works a treat as a topper pad on the bed roll if you are in a sleeping bag, or would make those strange beds more comfortable also.

Ill be there. Chris/ Two Smoker. probably be on the RG150, havnt decided if it will be black (dont care if i bin it) or red and white (looks flash)

just listen for the ugly scream of the bike, and 2 metre+ sparks from the knee sliders, and a guy being a general dick head trying to pull stunts with a certain Nepalese GSX-R600K2 rider hehehe.....

Oh yeah, red and white and black leathers, with white knee sliders and matching helmet....about 6 foot tall....

I'm thinkin I might come,I need to come down to Taumarunui at some stage,it's a big days ride,so an overnight camp will suit me well.I'm going to Taringamotu Valley,I have my own devious routes to get there, but may ride to the Hamilton meeting point and off load my folding stainless steel kitchen sink and vanity unit.I should be easy to spot - I'm the guy not riding a sports bike.

Dang it... I know when I'm beaten. Still, I'm sure I can manage to clock myself at over 100mph on the commute home. Minor modifications have been done (to my stopwatch).

Just crack open a (couple of) beer and go sit in the garage and stare at her for a while. then find the smallest cloth you can and start polishing/wiping. By the time she is clean you'll want to be back on no problems. Shit happens and such is life. Hopefully you'll be back on soon. :niceone:

Ok, got the info pack today - cheers Quasi (loved the freebies!). :niceone: All the riding fun's for the northerners though! Has anyone organised anything for on the way back for us Wgtonians? I'm guessing we're just heading up in our diff groups during the day on Sat and then meeting everyone at Tokaanu at night. Feeling a bit deprived here :weep: - someone organise something quick! We should sort something out for the whole crew to do, heading back down south on Sun. Unless of course there's already something sorted that I just haven't heard about yet.
Quick disclaimer: I don't know the funnest roads well enough to organise it myself!

Come hither SPMan. Come surround yourself with positive, endearing people... (oh and PISSHEADS!! :Punk: ) But even if you don't drink come and hang. Like has being said in previous posts. The sun will still rise in the East and set in the West. Time will still march on. And I'm sure you won't be short of any advice regarding such matters (especially when the Agony Aunt wannabes are PISSED).

Otherwise, what else ya gonna do? Actually that wasn't a rhetoric. :shifty:
