I have had my GT250 for twelve months today and have clocked up 34200km in that time.

Just thought it might be interesting to see how many ks others are doing???

that's alot man, that'd be nice.do you ride every day? i've done about 5000 since february which is okay, although i have the excuse of being poor with a free school bus arriving at my driveway, and a girlfriend too scared of hopping on the back seat so i have to take the car.lol

Sigh, In the 5.5 years of owning my bike, I've not even clocked half that :dodge:

Good on ya mate, nothing better than just getting out there and riding in my own opinion. In the 7 months i've had my bike and my licence I've almost done 5,000 km. Not many by any standard, but now that winter is really in control i'm predicting that the km's are going to slow down a little more..Next summer I'm going to ride everyday and get those km's clicking over (if the bike is still rubber side down) :scooter:

Keep clocking them up mate, nothing like experience I hear.

34,200 on a 250 in 12 months, did you ever go Home? Thats very impressive. I did 10,000 in 9 weeks on my SV, but thats a v-twin 1000, so easy to do on something like that. We generally do about 20,000 a year, give or take a few, so would be interesting to know how many ks Kbikers do annually on their bikes as I have no idea if 20,000 is high, average, or low in a years motorcycling. I bought my Aprilia beginning of January, and have done 9,000 ks since then, which is low for our household

I've been riding for 8 months now and been bikeless for about 2 of them. I did bout 7,000 on the GSX and about another 7,000 on the ZXR and possibly 3,000 on the RG... so roughly 17,000Kms  Hoping to do a lot of traveling shortly on the Hyosung once it's on the road.

Some how I've owned and sold a few bikes

Looking forward to doing some touring this summer :Punk: Just cause you have a 250 doesn't mean you can't travel a lot :scooter::love:

Just under 10 months of riding and done about 55000km ... but to tell the truth, in the last three months haven't been doing my usual milage! :sweatdrop

I'm an extreme case however ... riding to Hamiltron for an ice-cream, Whangarei for subways, Tauranga to see what the surf is like at the Mount... that sort of thing! :innocent:

And what Meeky Mouse said about 250 s'true... been to Cape Reinga and back in a day, down Wellywood for a KB ride there... and planning to do the great SI on the little ol'Hornet at the end of the year!

Okay, maybe I should say that I use it for commuting which is a 70km round trip and most weeks I work 6days. Then of course if the weathers not to windy I have to take the long way home which sometimes adds 100k on to the commute.

I also did 1667km on Queens Birthday weekend for a ride and did 2500km at Christmas time over 5days.

Just coming up to 12000km since november last year. Majority of mine is 72km return commute 5 days a week. And in summer months a few longer rides here and there - all dependant on my partner and our 3 kids tho.

Cmon you people whom have done these huge km amounts(Gijoe and GW555) do you have family at home to say "not this weekend" or "you only have a couple of hrs to ride this weekend"?

I feel like im not getting enough km under my belt, but on the other hand family life is good so maybe its a fine balance.

When I say, on the weekend, I need to go and get petrol for the bike my wife says see you in a couple of hours then - which of course is around three or more. It has been known that I have got gas in the morning and then had to get more before I get home because I have managed almost 400k in my "short" ride.

I'm single, stupid and obsessed with the things I do! In truth, I'm making up for lost time ... my younger brother and I both started out with motorcycles, but the effect it had on our mum meant I backed off and let my bro go full bore. He's married, settled and got a kid and hasn't been riding for years now (his last 'blade got written off by a careless cager running a red).

Tadaa... my turn now. With a vengeance! There's roads to be ridden, places to see, people to meet, ice cream to slurp, meals to scoff down and views I want to see again, but on two wheels!

I guess only bikers can understand that feeling of wanting to be in the saddle all the time...

Managed to do a thousand ks this week. Would be nice to do that each week for the rest of the year, but I think my knees would hurt too badly:yes:

Yep its a strong bug and once its bitten you want to ride all the time, i must say im very lucky to get alot of riding time considering my 3 kids and partner being home without me sort of suffer with me gone.

But im always happy to remind my partner that it was her whom said "get a motorbike, itll be cheaper to take to work each day". God bless her LOL

im about 3000k shy of the big 10. bought the bike last november. [38,000k when bought, now sitting somewhere around 45/46 thou k.]

the virago, theres again been regular runs to palm nth, and almost daily runs to work and back. one run to taupo, and one run to invercargill. not counting 2 or so weeks no speedo [the desert road hates me!]

i put 10,000 on the gn in the year we put up with each other. [not counting the 5 weeks with no speedo!] that was mainly to work and back [bout 20k give or take] and almost weekly trips to palm nth, and regular runs to wellington. one run to paeroa and back.

dunno how many k i put on my first bike before i wrote it off, but im guessing bout 6,000k. maybe more? dunno.

Back in '85 I did 15,000km in 10weeks. Had colleagues averaging near 100,000km/year.

Got to admit I did cheat a bit. Did a short stint as a courier after flunking out of varsity. Good money back then. Just after I stopped faxes became common and the bulk of the bike cargo disappeared.

I have an understanding partner who guilt trips me with understanding haha, but truth be told if I had a newer bike that I trusted would not break down (not that mine has, but it has it's 'moments') I'd be on the bike with a pup tent and a wallet full of cash clocking up way too many k's !

I've done approx 30,000+ km a year on my poor cbr250 for the last 5yrs -up to 173,000km now. Never had to do anything to it, other than oil and filter every 5000kms, plugs when needed, chain etc oh and lots of tyres

thats a fair amount of riding! just go round the clock to 20 odd km's then sell it for the high price 250's go for.

Goes to show: treat it right, go forever!

27,000k in 11 months & I don't use the bikes for commuting either. I have taken the CB1300 round the south island & been up one side of northland to north cape & back down the other side 2 up as well. Weekend riding & summer evenings is most of it.:scooter:

I bought my then 11 yo SR250 with 19,000ks on it and sold it 5 years later with 35,000 ks. Was riding most days over that time too, just it was 5ks to work or 7ks to Uni so it took along time to clock up decent ks.

Well i have managed to clock up a few more ks in the last five days (1700 actually) so speedo now reads 37500 (55 weeks of owning bike) - just realised that means I have done 3300km in three weeks
