That's just wrong.

I would suggest it would be better to do a runner or, god forbid, attempt to shoot it out with the trooper.

Good luck being a copper in Virginia.

HAHAHA you just wait!!! NZ is about to get tough with speeders with the new legislation that will be introduced later in the year. Soon you will lose your licence for going a pathetic 26+ kms over the limit.

Which is exactly the attitude that allows this sort of crap to continue. Sooner or later we've got to stand up and fight back.

If this was a true democracy there would be no speed limit (or at least higher than it is now). Try driving to Hamilton at 110km/h and see how often you get passed - almost continuously.

A live frog placed in boiling water will jump out and live. One placed in cold water that is slowly brought to boiling point stays put and dies. NZ is a land of frogs in slowly-heated water. Civil liberties seem to be a thing of the past because we, as a nation, watch them being eroded bit by bit and stand by doing nothing to stop it.

democracy? civil liberties?

Try opening your eyes and take a look around.

This is exactly my point. We can only have a democracy if we actively nurture it and hold those that claim the right to lord over us accountable for their abuse of power. We in NZ are too willing to just sit back and take it.

And so we should.

Maybe we should cure real crime before moving over to curing speeding.

I mean how many criminals live the life of a criminal with nothing worse than a slap over the wrist with a wet bus ticket? I mean I have taught some little toe rags that thought nothing of "stabbing the popo" , " baking some p" and a host of other rather anti-social and rather more damaging things. But you keep thinking that "a law is a law and all that break it deserve their punishment". Whilst all the time real criminals are getting are away with more and more as the justice system becomes clogged with bullshit like this.

I mean how many people on here regularly break the speed limit? The vast majority if they told the truth. How many of you have caused a death? Or cost the taxpayers millions of dollars cleaning up your graffiti?

NZs speed limit is relatively low, 100 MPH is common here in the UK on the motorway. Why? the roads are up to standards and people don't do it through urban areas etc. The NZ police have a nasty habit, coupled with the "i have a tiny penis and will not let you pass" syndrome of most kiwis when in the inside lane of a passing lane, of sitting at the end of straight bits of road and passing lanes in order to $ave live$.

'IF' that happens then I just won't bother riding the bike on the road.
Just drop the plate carry no id and run.

Can you provide any more info on this? This is the sort of thing we need to start opposing ASAP

Well, maybe if we all stick to the speed limit for 6 months the traffic cops will all have to be re-rostered into general duties since they won't be bringing in the quotas...... yeah right.

Or they will become more draconian on WOF, Rego, licence conditions, and the ability to use (in)'discretion' to ticket you for minor technicalities.

I wouldn't be surprised if we end up getting ticketed for travelling at or below the speed limit.

Just vote out the current government out, and a better one in. Yeah right.
Slim pickings.
