One of them may have been Richard Scott in his Honda days for Honda Great Britain . Possibly Greame Crosby. Or even Stu Avant (is he a Kiwi ?).

I would love to know who the riders from Zimbabwe were ??? .

Yeah ditto, very strange. Also was quite surprised that we were ahead of Germany and even with France.

Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) was a guy around the Mike Hailwood era, Jim Redman. Rode Hondas in the mid 60's, pretty dominant and in the IOM as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Redman

At least we make up for it in real racing like Motocross and enduro's etc.

MotoGP:whocares:No Bumps! No mud! How hard can it be?

Most of those would be Garry Hocking who was World Champion.

Did Kim Newcombe win any for NZ?

In the 1960s Commonwealth riders were prominent. Possibly the main reason was that the British short circuit scene was very difficult to break into against all the local specialists. Commonwealth riders usually went to Europe instead and competed in the second level events on the "classic" tracks.

When a factory needed a rider they could select a British rider who was a "star" but who didn't know any of the tracks, or they could select a rider with solid Eupopean racing experience. Thus came Redman and Hocking, from Rhodesia, Tom Phillis from Australia, and our own Hugh Anderson.
