Nice looking bike! But regardless of that, it'd be worth buying just for the name.
"And what do you ride?"
"Ah yeah; I ride a Goose!"
"Does it go "Honk! Honk!!"?"

You know, that's a very nice bike. I'd have one like a shot, if I was wanting to buy summat right now. We talked about them a while back, IIRC.

Recommended to anyone with a full licence that wants a good, fun, cheap commuter.

You might have to settle for a little less than $4995, though, victorlaszlo.

I just really love the styling. Classic cafe'd-out look.

I bet it'd wheelie off the clutch real nice, too.

Yep, it's a bloody good commuter, I just bought a XF650 to do some touring, so I that's why I am selling her.

And she's in excellent condition, too

Crikey that's tempting. I really like them. There is a dude who commutes on one in Wellington. It has a wee screen on it and it looks and sounds fabulous.

(subsequently-deleted naughtiness for which there shall be... a SPANKING!)

Don't hijack the nice man's thread with another ad, that's rude.

Crikey that's tempting. Crikey?
Sam - is that you?

Don't hijack the nice man's thread with another ad, that's rude.But... but... GAv's Saturno is SO gorgeous! Surely we can forgive him his rudeness?

Oh... I clicked on the linkything, and discovered he'd also hijacked summat from TradeMe.

how about another 350cc single road bike? (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Road-bikes/Other/auction-16051593.htm)
Gilera Saturno 350 $2750

They're gorgeous and and I want one of them too, but Suzuki spares are in plentiful and ready supply.

eerrr, is that a serious consideration when you buy a Suzuki, huh?

Well, er, yes. One thought I did have in relation to the Goose was 'you wouldn't have much trouble keeping that on the road for pennies'.

And that's a virtue in a motorcycle, in my humble, plebian, can't-afford-a-Ducati, not-much-mechanical-aptitude opinion.

Sniff.

Actually the Goose is just a FXR350 , aint it? maybe you could trade up? :2thumbsup

Pretty much, I suppose. Yes, I do fancy a Goose. No full licence yet for me, though. Bit silly, that I can ride a 60hp two-stroke, but not a 32hp four-stroke. But we've covered that before, I think.

And because of all that frustrated repression, when I *do* trade up, I'll probably buy as many ponies as I can get for my cash. For the same money as a nice Goose, f'rinstance, I could probably find an old Bindit 12 to add Ohlins bits to.

Yes. I went all gaga over the 500 Saturno in Motorad and Paul in NZ brought me back to earth rather quickly by reninding a few points, that being on of them. If it was NZ new you are more likely to have better long term support. Gilera hasn't made a road bike since the Saturno, and they are getting on a bit, so there will be wear and tear to sort out. The Goose is practically brand new.

You're not wrong. Crikey, I might be obsessed.

I got the black one of the Goose, got a bit of ridicule from some 400 types, but suits my needs, and after keeping up or overtaking them they looked at it a little different. Only 145Kg dry, sweet.

It does honk, and does honk along, really nice note to it when getting above 6.5 krpm, and can do a mean backfire/retard to scare pedistrians/bad drivers.

Wheelie, yep managed to do one at 80 kms when going to pass, scared the crap outta me and the driver I was overtaking. And now have managed to wear the new slime off the tyre to nearly the edge, mainly from trying to keep up to my mates VTR1000.

Out of all the bikes that I could have brought while I was last looking I came accross one just like this and I for some time seriously considered buying one. Yes, I know its not a Honda, however that fit of psychosis (PT) passed and the good Lord sent me the way of my CB. Funny how it all works out.
Nice bike never the less. :niceone:
