Hi I am looking for a mid sized bike (around 650cc) preferably geared up for a camping trip with side luggage etc...
I am familiar with DR650 but not necessarily looking for a dual purpose bike only or single cylinder....
Reliability is key over make, model or engine size...
thanks mark, Auckland

You could do worse than a Honda Transalp if you're looking for something around that capacity. I had the pleasure of meeting an Engish guy earlier in the year who toured the whole country on one. I rode with him up in Coromandel and was agreeably surprised with its tar seal performance, particularly as he was two-up at the time. Have a look at his blogspot: http://www.keithoops.blogspot.com/.

I would agree with Blackbird, a Transalp would be an excellent choice, as would the WeeStrom or the BMW F650.
All three of these bikes are 650 cc and can travel all day while carrying a heavy load of gear. :scooter:

Or you could buy my Bandit 1200s, excellent bike, well maintained and a superb tourer.

I'm selling my 2001DR650SE. It has been very reliable & has a ventura rack. PM me if you wish to find out more.
