Alright I've been talked into entering a club day event at Moonshine MX park.

I'm a complete novice (well I've ridden offroad a fair bit but hardly any MX tracks). From what I've heard Moonshine is quite a tough track with some large jumps and table tops.

Anyone got some tips or advice to give to a first timer?

Don't be afraid to talk to everyone there, they're all nice guys. The track is difficult but at least it's smooth (as in no rocks, there's still big jumps and all that). You won't be the only novice there, there are several others with only a few rides under their belt. And have fun :D

LOL! I've been bodybuilding for the last 6 years. That's one of the reasons I'm a little nervous. I don't want to come off and injure myself and not be able to train.

I think I'll just take my time and figure out the track and progress from there.

PLEASE DON"T RAIN THIS WEEKEND!!

P.S Anyone want me to do them a signature pic like mine? Just request an image and I'll set it up. You'll be to cool for school!

Thanks Scott. I'm sure it will be a blast.

Cheers everyone for the advice.

I'll try and get some pictures taken (note to self: Set shutter speed to slow to give the effect of a fast moving object)

did you manage to make it moonshine? its a shame they didn't have the track sorted, would have been a great day, till under the circumstances, the "access road" track was quite fun

Yeah I did. Hardest part was getting up at 7 on a Sunday:zzzz:. I took a walk around the track after I got there and was shitting bricks at the size of that drop off but when I saw them blocking it off I was over the moon.

I had a ball. I came off five or so times but were all low speed tip overs. My speed increased dramatically throughout the day and my confidence has risen ten fold.

I'll definately be back. Hopefully there is less mud next time and more jumps.

Sorry no I didn't. There was a photographer there but forgot to ask if he had a website. I did give him my race number so next time he said he can get a few shots of me.

Did you ride?
