Dang, that would have been very handy when my man had the Triumph Tiger...soooo comfy a ride, I did nod a bit a few times!
But on the back of the Suzi pictured, no way...we'd be having too much fun around the corners!!!:woohoo:

from the age of about 8-9 i'd pass out pillioning with the old man
it got worse and worse, by the age of 13-14 i'd nip off within 10km, spend the rest of the ride trying to stay awake
wouldn't matter if he was peddling it or not, its a trust thing
by 14 i'd perfected the art of sleeping while not smashing into his helmet, fully dreaming etc

Does your pillon go to sleep ?
On me old XJ, my ex use to tuck her hands into the handles of the side saddles, and the with the top box back rest she use to happily nod off to sleep.
I know she use to nod off, even though she never admitted it, I use to hear her snoring over the intercom...

Of course you can't...He actually had one of these, but before we got together. He absolutely LOVED it.
Now, he's got a SV1000 and has a whole lot of fun...but damn that thing is uncomfortable for the pillion!
Hence the fact I now have my own bike:laugh:

This topic has been talked about at the last couple of parties i have been too, and there are a few who admitt to the 'doze off'. After a big day out, returning home at night (around 7.30) i felt Annes lid hit the back of mine just as we got into Warkworth, so i gave the front brakes a short sharp grab (just to make sure that she was indeed awake :innocent:) As it turned out she only sneezed, so i have no need for velcro at this stage.

Never fell asleep in the few times I rode on the back of Dad's bike -- despite the long, wide, straight boring roads of Queensland and the comfortable V-Star cruiser I was on; probably because I just don't trust the bastard
I think also, being a rider, I'm always trying to anticipate what he's going to do, which means I'm always alert and tense. Doesn't work.
When the girlfriend pillions on my bike she gets very mellow and has almost fallen asleep a few times. I just don't think we've been on long enough runs yet, it's all been less than 40kms or so. I like to think I'm a reasonably smooth rider, which has something to do with it, and the CB250RS with the single cylinder means it's very mellow and makes nice low-frequency vibrations, instead of a buzzy high-pitched inline four.

All this talk is making me sleepy. It's like talking about yawns, you'll start doing it soon.

I am a fuckin terrible pillion. Always have been, on farm bikes etc. Hate being out of control!
Picked Spank up from town and due to licence issues jumped on the back of my bike for a short trip back over the bridge..... not my idea of fun!

A few years back meon3 fell asleep on the back of the Bandit. She dreamed we crashed the bike and had just enough time to phone the kids to say I love you before we died. Next thing she wakes up in tears and WTF? she's on a bike at speed!
True story....

After a long weekend at the Cold Kiwi my young fella would fall asleep on the back. Relativally safe in the armchair.
