Great day for riding. Sorry to the two riders who damaged their pride and joys today.
First off coming home and someone lost it in Muldoon's corner just below the Rimutaka Hill carpark. By the time I came around the bend about 4 bikes had stopped and they were placing dirt on the oil spill left by the bike. Couldn't make out which bike it was in the group. I had followed them up hours earlier, blue ZX14, ZX12 (the full faired sportstourer thingy), new silver CBR1000RR and some others. I slowed and asked if everything was Ok and got the nod to carry on.
25 minutes later and I'm coming around the bend before the Whitby [Golf course) turnoff and here's Mr Plod and a tow truckie struggling to drag a bike up to the road from the rocks beside the water's edge! They weren't having much joy so I swung back and helped drag it up the bank to the tow truck. It was a red kawasaki 400 and totalled. Mr P told me the rider was Ok ,but will be sore as hell tomorrow. Looked like he must have been heading east and lost it going into the right hand bend and gone airborne onto the rocks. These are LARGE solid rocks. Unlike the usual small and soft type. Man that would have hurt!
Anyway, whoever you are hope nothing serious done to the body. get well soon. Sorry but your bike is wrecked.
Shame a couple of Riders day out went sour.

It was the shiney blue ZX-14 on the hill. I was there slowing traffic when the poor bugger explained to his wife what had happened on the phone. He told her that he just came around the corner & lost it. Probably a write-off by the looks of it, oil leaking from at least one hole & lots of broken plastic.

Damn,

Me and Korea saw the cop on Paramata Road. Wondered what he was doing there. He was on his own when we past him. Shit id I knew he'd need a hand I'd have stopped.

Bugger about the dude on the hill too. Man, this time of year makes the roads a little precarious.

Should have come with us from Martinborough Mark. We had a ball. Next time aye

Yep I almost binned it doing 120k's big time on SH16.....had just raised my hand to dog owner who had rushed out to stop dog escaping and was banked over a bit, must bave just clipped the centre line and the rear stepped out big time....I was still riding 1 handed at time...eek...anyway both hands on, legs came off pegs to stablise..........the bike shook liked a bull sticking it to a cowboy.............I just relaxed, let bike slow on it's own and after about 100 metres or so the wobble lessened.....all I thought about was how my gear would hold up.........and when normality crept in, buying a new rear tyre

Do you have a crystal ball and know that both riders were speeding ?

Your poem doesn't rhyme either.

And a common misconception about song writing from people who don't do it, is that everything has to rhyme :D

I'm sure you'll go far with that little ditty.

I was not far behind the 2 ZX's on the hill and gave him an MIB (Mention in Blogs).

It seemed an odd place to finish up...in the middle of the road about 15-20 metres from the corner and I thought they were between 4 cars. There were two cars behind him when we got there so he can't have been going too quick at the time as he hadn't passed any more????

Bike didn't look too bad but the goo on the ground was ominous.
