Finally...
High sided the XR up in the bush on todays laid back trail ride.
Up the very rocky road, up the very icey road, onto the frozen clay/ice and the back came around exiting a corner.
Got my left leg stuck betwen the front wheel and the headers somehow.
The ice just got worse as the day wore on!
By 2:30pm one section was bypassed completely.
Looking forward to the race next weekend... sort of
Anyone got some ice-spikes in 18", and 21"?

Dude, bummer! Hope you aren't too bruised or broken, and hope the bike bounced! Popped my binning cherry myself yesterday, never pleasant is it? :(

I can't quite visualise the wheel->leg->header situation either *scratches head*
Ice! Clay! I thought Nelson was the sunshine capital?

Wow - do you mean "finally" as in you don't ever fall off? Anyway - snap!!! I lost the front at Motards today on a wet track. But binning the DR is no new experience to me at all. Just as well dirt bikes bounce well eh!
So did you crispy fry your leg on the headers? I was lucky no damage to bike and not even a bruise on me!

Didnt hurt yourself or the NZ to much I hope.
That was a pretty good bike for around the Port Hills. It wont be off the road for long will it? We have to do the run to Diamond Harbor when the road isnt gritty and damp one day.

I've got problems working it out too and I've got the melted hole in my pants and a red area on the inside of my left leg below the knee to help the visualisation.

It is!
We had to go all the way into the hills to find some ice.

Hope you heal quick Nordie! Pre 86 racing sounds like fun - must come watch one day.

Oh I am so unworthy.
I have only been back racing for about 4 months.
1 Mini TT (5 races) - 2 bins.
2 Gravel event days (12 runs) - 2 bins
3 Motard races (18) Races -2 bins.
The last one was Sunday and I needed an xray to make sure my ankle was OK. God you should see the size of my foot and its a lovely blue/yellow colour!
Am I trying too hard maybe? OK though - the DR is still in mint condition even if I'm not. We will be back for the next event. Here's my tip to you all - remember to protect your bike when you fall by placing your soft body between it and the track!!!

Pre-1980 bikes are not usually very tall so there's not far to go in a lowside.
I can almost get my knee down without going around a corner.
My DR on the other hand if I stretch I can flatfoot it, just...
