View Full Version : hour to kill... and my assistant

Well had an hour to kill today so thought I'd get around to something I've been putting off for ages and trimmed my rear fender and attached a pair of aftermarket rear blinkers (micro oval type). Out with the Rotary Hobby Tool, a bit of high speed cutting, some spare washers and Bob's your uncle's father twice removed
Also pictured is my assistant who goes by the name of Stinkarse (for obvious reasons). She's one of 10 felines whom I found in me backyard one time (just after the two mothers gave birth). Unfortunately I had to get them all put down but Stinkarse managed to abscond so I thought "tis a sign that she must live" and the rest is history. She's about 8 months young, had the snip and her apprenticeship is going great guns.
Time to grab an hour of nod before graveyard shift tonight.
Take care peeples.

Nice rear chingster. The indicators finish it off nicely!
Cutting off the rear guard was the first thing I did to my bike when I brought it home on that 1st day - the look is heaps better. Not as practical though because of the mud that flicks up and dirties the rear lights, etc. I know White Trash didn't cut his off on his gixxer600 because he knew he would be selling it, so there are some reasons not to give it the chop.

That's not entirely accurate.
More likely, he always meant to and is such alazy bastard, he never got round to it.

The phrase "Bob's your uncle" causes constant mirth in our family. What with me having nieces.
Youngest niece's brand new husband has a habit of saying "Bob's your uncle", to which my niece always replies "Yes, I know". Cuts him dead every time.
Of course, she has also got down to a fine art 'that' look - the one all men know, the one that means 'You're pushing your luck'. I love watching him the second he sees 'that' look and starts trying to squirm his way out of trouble!
And as for changing the colour... I think Stinkarse looks very good in black and white... :thud:

Leave it alone, it's a great paint job.
No seriously, I'm not being sarcastic.

Spray-on hair colour works on dogs, so it should be ok for the cat too. I think it needs at least some go fast stripes or graphics eh?

Yeh, you can have that one Yammie :moon:
Just got some spray paint cans. Going the cheap route since I'm such a thrifty (tight-arsed bastard to all you comedians) type. Will see how it goes.

Yeh thanks Zed. Really noticed that I needed to do it when one day my mate was shooting over to Taupo to WOF his van and I happened to be shooting over to drop the bike on Darryl August's shop floor so we swapped rides. That rear guard stuck out like dog's balls when I was tailing him and just wasn't the "hims" if you know what I mean. And those micro ovals. So much brighter than stock even though they're way smaller. Trike Works stick them on the bodies of the machines they build.

AFAIK yeh. And like I says, so much brighter than stock (after all halogen bulbs).
Trike Works advertise them on TradeMe under following link:-
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbike-Parts/Other/auction-16129086.htm
so might get them cheaper than the usual $59. Quite a few sites on the Net sell them, ordered a set of 4 from an outfit in Aussie (so much cheaper even with freight) but parcel never turned up and that was about a over a month ago. So I says, "f&%k it" and scored a set from Trike Works. But be warned, it says, replacement bulbs are $150 each so don't go binning your motor in a hurry.

Ehr. You calling me a girl then Lynda!
Nah but thanks. When Stinkarse ran away and hid under the house it took about 3 months before she came around. I'd like to think the ole chingy charm had something to do with it but I think it was just the Hansel / Gretel trick and chuck some morsels on the ground.
