Just though I'd post these pics taken from the work car - especially those up north a bit that don't get 'real' frosts.
(BTW the 'mesh' in pic3 is actually deer-fence)

Don't ride it as much as during the summer - but a day like above is not too bad as long as you're well covered, the wind-chill factor is off the guage on a day like that.

That was a bit dangerous taking that first picture driving in peak hour traffic SD!

Is that the Wichita lineman working in the distance in pic 1..Always wondered what happened to him.

Do you have to mix anti-freeze into your biro ink so you can write tickets!!

Tell you what........ I'll swap "floods" for "snow" anyday..

Beats having septic over flow being washed through my house by flood waters and not being able to live in my house... *puke*

Hey SD,

Speaking as a Jafa who was born & bred in the deep south your pics did wonders for morale. I remember the ice being so cold it burned your hands when you picked it up.

Thanks mate, brought back some great memories.

I'm with you XxKiTtiExX.
I actually enjoy this weather.
Mind you we're getting clear skies each day over our way.
Apparently it's persistent fog around Wanaka, Cromwell and Alex....that would be just depressing.

And it seems like it's never going to stop raining for you poor sods up there!

Looks very very good, us Gisbornites are to use to hot summer days with the warm summers sun beating down on our backs. Ahhh.

It is that persistent fog freezing that creates the hoar.

It only looks that good after the fog clears and the sun comes out.

You onky get ice crystals that big after days and days of miserable gloomy weather.

Nadroj's pics show it like it is while the hoar is forming

Off topic, but linked.

Photos taken a couple of weeks ago. One of our household "winter rituals" - feeding the Waxeyes on top of the old bike shed. And yes, that is snow.
