View Full Version : Why is it that as soon as you start cleaning a bike...

... it starts to rain :spudwhat:

Just about managed two buckets of hot water with MER shampoo (recommend MER - fantastic stuff), then four buckets of cold to rinse... and the heavens open!

Just about had time to get the bike back in the garage...

Which got me wondering. Why is the natural reaction to it starting to rain to rush the just washed bike into the garage?

To stop it getting wet?

Oh well, hopefully I'll be able to attack the wheel rims tomorrow...

I guess it's mostly since you try keep your clean bike out the rain, so it's a habit to rush it inside. Also, sometimes rain isn't all that pure, what with all the sulphur makin Acid Rain (Maybe not so much in NZ though).

water drops form around dust particles. then they fall outta the sky. rain is what make your car dirty. besides waterstains on a newly polished bike means you have to give it another wipe. ah just keep your bike in the garage 24/7 and dream of riding it instead. heck build a glass cage over the top to keep dust off and charge mates 50c a view. :Pokey:

Ah, gee Bob. That's a no-brainer.

If it was nice weather you'd be out riding.

You only clean the bike if its not worth going out on it... :msn-wink:

It's not the rain that pisses me off. More often than not I give the bike a clean and come across road works. Dust and all that shit. Realy pisses me off.
