Finally a USB flash drive (http://www.trustedreviews.com/storage/news/2007/07/19/SanDisk-Ducati-Tie-in-Produces-Fastest-Cards-Ever/p1) that doesn't look UGLY! (And it comes in red :shifty:)

Pretty cool, but i couldnt justify the novelty given my current coin situation. Could be a useful replacement for my growing stack of DVD-R's though

I think one rediculously overpriced Ducati item is enough for me.
Im not desperate enough for my USB to be slightly faster that Id pay those kinda prices

Oakley shop in Chch. $580 though, at the time Id just been promoted and felt like treating myself. The silly part is the $240 Oakleys I had before that are far more comfortable. Although titanium is light its still not as light as plastic.

Bet they get squashed just like the cheapie ones when you sit on them though! :innocent: I never pay more than $40 for sunnies - they all seem to meet some sort of unfortunate death after a year or two.

If yours looks like that then youve got problems
Don't some of the new Ducatis (the 1098?) have usb ports so you can dump your lap times and engine management records and stuff onto a flash drive? I think that would be the only reason I'd consider one.

Yip.
There is a USB port so you can plug it into your laptop and view data from the bike. But only the 'S' model.

I looked at it and thought f*ck! I'll have one of those! Then I looked at the cost (US125) and thought HOLY S*&#^#$!! For comparison, a 2GB iPod nano is now US149. Damn!

It's very realistic... The SAN disk and Ducati
They're both built to go fast
They're both stylish
They're both the same colour
They both hate the rain...

Mebbe that's why. I've had two pairs of Bolle sunglasses (not particularly dear - about $220 each, I think) and they've lasted YONKS. The first pair were worn nearly every day under my crash helmet, which is why they got run over, when I put them in my lap while putting on my helmet, and they slipped off and got run over (by me) when I forgot they were there. They lasted at least two years after that, before I lent them to my son who lost them. The replacements (not yet run over) have lasted about 5 years so far, and are still newish (despite being sat on more than once).
I've had cheaper glasses, of course. None lasted very long, and one of my favourite pairs (mirrored Polaroids) expired when I fumbled it one day at the skifield, and it dropped lightly onto my ski, whereupon it kinda exploded. :shit:

Ditto except Raybans. Great optics, great quality and if they cost more they tend to get respected better

My first pair of Oakleys cost me $120 about 15 years ago. A couple of times i put too much weight on them while they were in their soft case and the arms popped out but went straight back in again. I gave them to my dad when I bought my second pair and the first pair is still going strong. When I bought the Ducati ones I gave the still perfect condition ones to my Gf and theyre still going strong too.
So all up ive spent almost a grand on sunglasses but theyre all the same as the day I bought them. No complaints.

My Ducati gets me too and from work....in the Winter....every day...rain or shine. What's this about Ducatis not liking rain. Is this part of the same myth that says they are expensive to maintain?
Besides - those little gizmos cost more than my Ducati...

Shhhh! Don't spill the beans mate, if everybody knew the truth they'd be riding a Duck too.
As for the USB drive I'd buy one (if the mrs would let me)

No, it's part of that myth that all Ducatis leak oil when parked up.
Oh wait :innocent:
Did you ever fix that? I can't remember.
I don't think this USB memory key will go any faster than the average USB memory key. They claim 20MB/s, but that's not really out of the ordinary with the latest ones around, and I doubt it'll come anywhere near those specs.
Anybody else thinks it looks like those white-out tape appliers with a USB socket poking out its arse?
One of the more embarrassing brand associations there, for both parties I'd imagine. Has to be right up there with those awful Acer Ferrari laptops.
Is this some kind of weird Italian marketing fad? <hints id="hah_hints"></hints>

I imagine the USB stick would work for the first week.... (until you leave it in the back of a server somewhere)
Whereas those Acer Ferrari's come broken out of the box! (Like the rest of their range)
FYI, the local Sandisk distributor says they will have pricing on these late August, so I expect the first shipments will be here late September.

Those are bloody terrible. Quite why Ferrari thought it would be a good idea to ever license their brand out at all, let alone to crappy plastic laptops defeats me.

Yeah - it's fixed - not a Ducati specific problem. At some point in it's ancient history a chain snapped and wound round the front sprocket making a wee hole in the engine (in a less than important place) Auckland Motorcycle Surgery have fixed it all up good as new (previous repair done with kneadit).
Still reckon the sticks are overpriced coz we get suppliers givin' branded sticks out for free and you wouldn't catch me forking out ready cash just for the Ducati brand:whistle:

Not like you would buy something just because it has Ducati on it, not even a Hat maybe? A weathered grey one perhaps? :dodge:

<hints id="hah_hints"></hints>Lol I know not a Ducati specific problem, but I like taking the piss -- as I ride such a reliable, quality brand. I've never had any mechanical problems with my ride! :innocent:
Yep, it's funny how some companies give away USB keys for free with their branding on it, and other companies charge people for the priviledge.
