View Full Version : A general discussion about a possible ride to be organised sometime next week...

Now this isn't a postulated exact 250 group ride (apparantly needs to be put into Meetings and Events)

But merely a convivial free thought discussion about where new learners and experienced 250 riders would possibly like to go next week (of course, this is highly flexible, not set in concrete - there may be things like weather to consider, Aunty Jemima's crockpot evening, even a small stroll on two legs through the affable surroundings of the Winter Gardens in mind)

I was thinking, note, just thinking that there could be a case in point to have a 250 group ride heading north! Just for a change, possibly taking in the merits of a motorway trip on the Nor'western...

And mayhap pass through Kumeu onto SH16...

But of course, this isn't an organised ride, since I need to have input from other riders to suggest other options!

So, to summarise, a possible 250 group ride, possibly heading north, possibly taking in the route to a more northernly direction with possible stops possibly next weekend, perhaps on a Saturday or Sunday!

All ideas to be considered and by group concensus hammered out in a robust way here in club 250.

I may or may not be the organiser, I may or may not be present, even to the extent that this thread may or may not even exist here for long!

I think with your busa, if you rode it fast enuff, it would just jesus walk across the water! :innocent: Heck, with your busa, you could do the trip there and back before we even got there!

No fair... you make up 4-5 of our little two fiddy bikes! Actually thinking about it now, we could always use someone to scout off down the road further along to check on road conditions!

So, there is a thought of heading up North (weather permitting) on a weekend that favours a Saturday ... hmm it's starting to come together now!

I think we will have to build in plenty of rest stops for those sprotsbikers and not to mention "learning points" so we can reflect on our riding and even have constructive feedback by more learned riders.

Yes, yes ... so Whangarei for subways or an ice-cream? Or in Hellraiser's case, he can tow his jet ski behind the busa for shits and giggles on the water!

Maha man is supposed to be organising a little pootle out on Saturday, prior to the 3M birthday bash, perhaps you may like to consider joining up with that ride, if indeed this said proposed sort of pootle of yours takes place at some part of Saturday next weekend

Now that you have detailed the route, I'm sure we can expect Mr Plod happily sitting and waiting for us!

I don't get allowed out much any more - I'd like to join but I often find there's too much plod out North which makes it very dangerous (too busy looking at the speedometer, not enough time watching the corners).

Mind you I could do with a ticket just to prove the Duchess can go that fast!

Meremere is cheaper.

The Duchess needs a bit more that 1/4 mile to get to top speed! besides, I have no ladies clothes to fit so 'Drag' racing is out for me.

You're kidding me. Must have lousy acceleration then.

And you can't borrow some of the missus'?

I'm a lot bigger than the missus....and I bought the bike for it's name, not it's performance.

22nd July 2007, 21:25
One would expect something with the name 'super sport' would have at least decent performance.

But we're getting off topic.

Possibly back to the 250's probably doing a ride that might be heading north sometime this week or perhaps this weekend.

gijoe1313
22nd July 2007, 21:42
Aye, it seems that we may (or may not) be heading into firmer territory about a possible ride that may or may not include 250s or may or may not include larger cc motorsickles that may or may not head out North and may or may not incorporate itself into another ride that may or may not include other motorcycles!

Just trying to ensure that no mis-understanding due to the fact that this is a postulated 250 ride and may or may not include other riders wishing to accompany the club 250 at a future date and route to be decided sometime!

Now, a word of caution.

I have received warning in the past about posting a Rant with some motorcycle content, and had it moved from Rant and Rave to General Bike Ravings - as there has been mention made of bikes, CC ratings and even postulated rides, should we now play safe and ask a mod to move this thread, lest we upset the delicate balance of the site, and perhaps even cause a serious disruption in the whole internet?

Ah fuck it - :finger: - you know who you are...

Steady on old chap, no need for profanities or abuse like that! :sweatdrop

Makes you sound like a potty-mouth! Refer to a nice thesaurus and use more eloquent words to make your point instead!

Incorrigible you are (there, that word again! Use Dictionary.com puhleeze!)

Yeah well, such a person doesn't validate me using an extended vocabulary.. if he doesn't have the braincells to realise that this is a "CLUB" section where rides have _always_ been posted (and where I, among, oh I don't know, everyone else? has always found mcjim's/mavericks rides in the past), then I won't use the braincells to come up with a decent retort.

Leah will be so jealous if you don't take her along too, after the other day...
(As soon as she learns to drive she is allowed t osit her bike licence and then she will be coming along too I thinks)
Thats' Ok though, I think I will take MY bike on this one!
(She is braver than me on the slippery seat of that TL!)

So, pretty much, if there does maybe happen to be a serendipitous gathering of two wheeled machines coincidentally travelling in the same general direction, i might possibly, accidently, quite ubiquitously be there.

I just came home from Whanga's today (alas, in a cage), and was reminded of how nice n twisty those roads are, apart from the infamous "UNEVEN ROAD" section hehe..

So I'd be dead keen for a ride to Whangamata via the scenic route, hopefully the weather will play nice so the roads aren't slippery out those ways!
