Yahoo, I'm racing again, amazing how much I'd missed it.
Went to the test day on Friday, but for some reason we waited till lunch time to go out, I did one session, and was really impressede with the stock SV.
Got to the track saturday morning, to find Robert Taylor had the Ohlins shock for the rear, hadn't been valved for the track, but was bound to be an improvement, so in it went.
Missed the scrub session, as did everyone, so waited till qualifying to see how the bike felt, had heaps more grip, so I managed to get the number one spot:first:
Race one went ok, found myself in 5th place before I pulled finger and got back to second behind Glen Williams.
Race two I buggered up the start, and was 6th into turn one, and pissed about dicing for second and third, when I should have just put my head down and caught up to GW again.
Race three, time to do the bizzo, got a good launch, then fucked it up by not shifting up on time, and bounced around the rev limiter. Wasn't gonna let that stop me, and by turn three I was in 2nd place. I got stuck right in come lap two, and ducked under what I'm told was quite a surprised looking GW into splash, managed to hold him off for a lap and a bit, but the crafty bugger got me back, saw the white flag and tried it on coming into turn one, only to have the door, not just shut on me, but a frame splitting SLAM!!! I tried a couple more times to get through, but went well too deep into Higgins, and had to settle for second place again.
Had a great day, and really look forward to learning a bit more from Glen, and then cleaning him up with his own tricks:innocent:
Thanks sooo much to Darkman for giving me the SV to ride, you da man bro, thanks to my lovely lady Flame for your support, Sean for your pit managing skills, and also the Anglo American motorcycle club, along with KTL motorcycles for there cheers too. (And there rum), also Tony for riding up in the cold just to support us.
Thanks to so many people, Deano, Mikey, Sue, Jimmy (well done in F1 bro), and anyone I might have not mentioned, it means the world to me.
Next month I want to win a race, so somebody go sabbotage Glens warmers for me.

Speaking of warmers, you better thank Poos too....
Bloody top effort mate - you talked the talk and walked the walk.
Looking forward to seeing you in the next one - I might have to miss the odd F3 race just to watch you - that move into splash was the bizzo.

Piss off, the indian giver took them back, and totally snobbed me the whole day.

Awesome first time out effort on the bike by both you and Darkman. Will be great when theres a whole field of these Protwin bikes as the speeds down the straights were so close and the racing was very good viewing.
So many KBers had good days at the track. TwoSmoker did the bisso.
Felt a bit sorry for Jimmy getting taken out in that final Superbike race he was very impressive all day.

The straight line speed did appear pretty even, so who in F3 on an SV has done all these mods we hear about that won't be allowed in protwins ???

Yeah, they were, and I do thank him for the use of them. He let me use them for the day even tho he wanted to keep them on his wets for just incase.
I'm not sure how much work the other three bikes up front had recieved, there were a few time I had a better drive out of the sweaper, only to have my efforts dashed by a bit more poke, but it wasn't like racing against bikes that had been really wanked.

Yeah man, he had a blinder. I'm real proud to be racing with him.
Flame was goin real well too, she dropped seven seconds over the course of the day. She's bitching about not being as fast as she was before her off (she was four seconds quicker than she is now), but when is a woman ever happy with what they've done?

I know what she's going through. I take ages to get my confidence back as well. At least she can take some satisfaction from still being faster than me. Getting back out there and doing it is the only way, combined with avoiding pushing too hard. Heaps of KBrs' had great rides but I don't want to hijack your thread.

Cheers for that bro, feelin a wee bit better about Glen giving me the learn on it.
Last race was only five laps too, and I knew where I was quicker, I just lacked the testicular fortitude to make my move a couple times.
I'll just have to think less next ime eh.

Pretty sure I didn't say anything about intestines, and comatose people, might do very well at racing, how will we ever know?

You do get a red neck very quickly in the sun, but that's just bloody northerner genetics.
