What's the basic design / model / make of the gear, or is it completely custom?
They still use Kawa 250's eh?
Congrats Quasi!
Of course, you being a defence supplier does mean you are now a terrorist target, right?
Al Qaeda has you on their list...

Well since they take the Prime Minister in to the fire house and shoot the "terrorists" out from around them with live rounds I would question if they would let them go that quickly.

Especially since they are one of our most active, and recognised units....

Are they getting the gear Quasi, they might not want the reflective piping?!

The Set you see is essentially still a prototype, the scotchlite piping is an option of interest but no decision has been made on it, so will will finalise that and a few other things before going into full production

I havent done retail costings on it, not sure if camo is a marketable idea for non army interests ?? what ya think ?

Bet the camo gear would go down a treat with the gen pub. Heaps of riders here in Aus in the camo draggin type jeans in the different colours, I presume you can get the same gear in NZ.

But I'm too Nana to wear camo gear - why wear camo when a motorcyclist is hard enough to see already?! :shit:

The army gear looks great though, Quasi - really smart looking.

Also, you look like a bona-fide soldier in that getup.

hmmm, camo gear with scotchlite ..... kind of defeats the purpose somewhat.

Well done.

P.S. how is the Navy's latex one peice coming along?

Fundamentally a dumb idea. But that's never stopped stuff from selling before. I'd wear the pants.

For hunters going out on their trail bikes its perfect.....

For noobs with their boxer shorts and their arse hanging out of them on mini choppers it's....................maybe a good thing.

I'm not going to back away from 'Fundamentally' motorcycle apparel that makes you more difficult to see is not a good idea.
I understand the repercussions - some kid buying online might not.

Not that I give a rats - I only wear black anyway.

But there is the argument that more people see big scary arse bikers in black as they see them as a threat.

If you're producing it specifically for the army then you may not even be allowed to sell it to anyone else... I'm fairly sure people like lockheed-martin aren't allowed to go around selling stealth bombers to anyone and everyone.

Make sure it's specified in the contract if you can or can't eh.

I would think marketing "their" design to civilians would piss the Army off. There's no rationale for not doing it but the military do like to feel they have something special. In fact, I'm surprised that it's not on your contract.

Well done on the contract and well done to Defence for awarding the contract locally and not to bloody China!

Hi Dude, yes new products well under way, they need to get here first, then photo/model shoot, then do website, lots going on but working bloody hard, as a little looky here is one of the new jackets from the rapid range.

It is very highly spec'd external TPU armor (from italy) which is a new thing for us, as well as a heap of other high specs not found in most Jackets here.

this model is available in Red/blue/ black silver
available in about two weeks

Army use alot of Civilian gear.

If you want to survive in Wiberia you go and buy a civvy sleeping bag, in the Summer you use a Camelback..... with the adapter so it works with your S10 respirator mind you.

There are a few things that they use that are just COTS..... a term you see more and more in the military all over the world.

Nice score Quasi, shouldn't take to long to kit out the whole of the NZ Army, but then there's the Aussies, and heaven forbid George dubblya' lot, but then they would want it in a desert camo

gijoe1313

Nods. I was thinking more about stuff developed for military but I guess if they don't pay for the development then they have no IP claims on it.

I would still clear it with them though ... no point in messing up a new and beautiful relationship.

Bloody rare these days for locals to support locals. Good show and all etc.

I'm sure if you set a couple in each of the most common sizings a few people will buy them, don't really have anything to lose with the large amounts you'll be supplying to the army, and if that stock doesn't sell you could always chuck it in one of the army shipments. Good on mate, you'll be making a killing if all goes well!

I do wish the army still got their combat boots from john bull. About the best boots I've ever owned (not for riding of course).
