I won't do a full write up for this race day. 1 because my body is still aching and can barely type and 2 because the race day for my self was less than perfect...

For the first time, I couldn't get my body to perform to my needs while riding a bike. I knew I was weak because I got sick but I didn't know how weak I had really become. I went out on practice. Set a reasonable time. Came back and did race 1 which was OK considering that I was just riding a bike for the first time after getting back from my holiday. In race 2 I got the feel for things a bit and managed to drop the personal best by only a little bit. In race 2 I also had 2 near high sides probably because I hardly got any sleep and was still in Jet lag mode...

Half way through the 3rd race though, my body just gave up. I was barely able to hold on to the bike properly and I had to brake early to try and reduce the strain put on my arms... etc etc..

I missed the last race in F2 on purpose cause I was finding it hard to even walk properly. I still did the last race for F1 cause I got lil bit of streght back from taking a break. During that last race though, I couldn't even push the bars the other way (counter steer) so for the hair pin and turn one I just let the bike turn in by it self really slowly. All I did was go round and round the track hoping to get a chequred flag asap.

Frustrating was what yesterday was for me. I knew I could go a lot faster but trying any harder would have probably meant a crash, given the condition I was in.

It was a crap day for me but the conditions were awesome for the day (weather and temperature etc). So, most took full advantage of that and had a great time. One good thing about missing out on that F2 race was that I got to watch the guys race from the bench. Fuck, it was good to watch nicko specailly!!

A big thanks to my brother for managing all the paper work for the race day while I was away and also for faxing me my race licence on race day because I had taken last years one with me for some reason... Another big thanx to andy1 for comming with me and helping me out with everything! Thanx to nicko for taking my bike down.

And ofcourse thanx to Vic Club for organising it and all the officials responsible for organising it all.

That's a shame, dude, sorry to hear about your condition. Not too surprising, really, given what happened in India, and I guess that's why all the top motorsport guys these days have to pay so much attention to their health and fitness.

There will be another day. There will always be another day.

Hey Sudeep,

Welcome back :niceone:

Its better to not go hard and have a bike to ride again, than to go hard and have no bike at the end..... Yep Nicko is AWESOME to watch. was very lucky to watch him racing at Pukekohe....

Come out next weekend and we can go training, (maybe with the other group down SH22, show them what little bikes can do....)

Hi MR: I'd wondered why you didn't go out in the F2 race. So sorry you came all that way to not feel well - but at least you didn't bin it through not being able to concentrate properly.

Sorry we didn't get to see much of you - I would have like to have said "hi" to Andy1.

There will always be another race day.

I understand your frustration and disappointment - however you did the best you could with the situation as it was.

Look towards the next race when your strength is back, I know you will do well. :)

dude -where is the negative here--1) you diddn't bin -2 You raced when not in top form--thats what the pro's do all the time. and 3
You conserved your energy for where it counted. -Seems you did pretty good from my point of view. :not:

Good to have you back Sudeep.

Like Tony says, sounds like it was a good performance considering circumstances.

As for missing that F2 race, better being safe than sorry eh?

Thanx for all the support guys! I know every thing went as well as it possibly could given the circumstances but I just wish I could have had more fun by being in a better shape.

TS, aren't you racing for R2 of AMCC? Or did you mean go riding on Sat to train for Sun? I only have so much money left now just to pay for fuel and entry fee for the race only so I won't do any more riding till Sunday. Anyway I will be rebuilding the engine before doing anymore riding on the TZR.

I will definetly try to shape up a bit, if it's even possible in a week. Also, I'll at least get pleanty of sleep before I go on the track for this one.

Again, thank you for your encouraging words everyone. :)

P.S. I am looking forward to seeing all of you who are comming on Sunday.

Hey bro, we all have off days - you looked really out of sorts on the day alright....all that international jet-setting must be hard work! Good effort actually realising you weren't feeling ok and sitting that race out, better that then losing concentration and doing something like missing a braking marker.

Mike and I will write up a report for our day, my day started out with a broken rear shock in practice but turned out to be a bloody good one! Good seeing SVS (congrats on the placing), Lynda and you other KBer's down there.

It certainly gives you a great deal of insight as to just how much hard work the pro's must put it. They're constantly jetsetting, can seldom let "the flu" or anything prevent them from doing it on the day.
The thought of just how fit and mentally prepared they must constantly be is awesome.

Glad to hear nothing really bad came of the day MR. Sounds like you gave it your all in bad circumstances and with a maturity to know when to not go out there.

You've certainly got the makings of a mighty fine racer. :cool2:

Looking forward to watching you and Nicko in F2 racing.... Will make sure i get the bike on friday to scrub in tyre and work in the brakes.....

Have you got new tyres and brake pads???? and are you going to rebuild the TZR???? Hurry up and do it, the guys are pretty keen for us to ride with them again.....

I am only a newbie racer, I just did 2 rounds including the one on 25th of Sep. So I wasn't going for points. Anyway though, I came 20th out of 34 riders overall in F1 and 16th out of 26 riders overall in F2.

Next year, I will be going for points, funds permitting....

That's OK man, I would have gone around to meet people aorund the pits as well but I didn't really feel like doing anything but sitting down at the time. We'll meet on a track day or a race day or something...

How'd you go anyway?

Sudeep.
