Well after 3 stress full weeks of trying to get my health right and the bike back to working properly, finding finance and transport etc etc... I finally made it to Manfield :Punk:
We got there 5 mins before riders briefing started so it was a mad dash and lesson learnt... get there earlier next time :innocent:
Seeing as every one missed scrub in it was straight into it...
Qualifying:
Got out there and felt the track was REALLY slippery in some spots, so I took it easy for the first lap... then in turn 3 (I think it's called Splash?) I learnt for my self that white lines actually are very slippery :dodge: :p low sided it and had my first bin on a bike... very odd feeling sliding across the seal!
While I was in the middle of the field saw Glen's off... looked incredibly painful! Realized then how nice sliding into nothing is
Big thanks to Doug for helpin me push my bike back to pit lane, seriously couldn't push it myself (bike was stuck in gear and clutch was snapped).
For a while I thought that was me out for the rest of the day, was totally gutted. But Graeme, Kieth, Andy, Gordon and mum came to the rescue.. thanks guys :Punk:
Race 1: Was shaking as we left the pits as I was sort of (ok, incredibly) nervous from my first off, but knew if I didn't get back out there it would be harder the longer I left it. Felt really good coming up to the grid, got a good start and went to change into second... but nothing was there... looked down and the gear rod had come loose :slap:
Another push back to pits and got it sorted out.
Race 2: I was riding with a cable tied clutch lever.. so I had a crash course on how to change gears with out clutch as I didn't want to use it too much. Was my best race of the day... which isn't saying much as I kept mucking up the gear changes. Had a good race with Kyle... managed to get him on the inside through the sweeper on the last lap, Hehe. Then the bike stalled as we were waiting to go back into pits and my knee was too weak to kick start it... so another push back to pits... by this time I told my self that it was the last time I'd push it back :p
Race 3: At this stage the stress of the past few weeks was taking it's toll on my brain and I just didn't get into it... Kept making stupid mistakes and almost binned twice, nearly hit Ivans screen lol. But I made it past the checkered flag
Big huge thanks to my sponsors: Chris Mitchell Motorcycles, Action Adventure Rentals and my parents... There is no way I could of made it with out you guys!
Looking forward to round 4... Hoping to make a big improvement on round 3 lol
