i dont know about the test here (uk license holder) but i do have one tip, remember to breathe!

sounds silly but you would be surprised at how often you forget to breathe, and thats when you are tensed up and make mistakes. so remember to breathe (breathing helps to relax;)) and all will be fine!

As long as you have good basic control skills you will have no problems.

Get there early.

You will not be marked on mirror use so concentate on showing how well you scan. Still need to check behind though!

Big diffence is that the tester can not mark while driving behind you so he/she will have to remember faults. Means less marks on test paper.

Also looks good in my opinion if you cover your brakes and trigger the brake light when approaching hazards now and then.

It's only a short ride so relax. :Punk:

When I did my test the tester followed me in a car and used the indicators to show me when I should turn. So yeah, use your mirrors! Some places use head-sets but most seem to use this technique.

They run you through all the basic stuff - give way, stop sign, roundabout, u-turn, hill start, etc etc. As far as I can tell, they aren't there to trick you! So if they give you verbal instructions and the instructions aren't clear, just ask for clarification.

Oh yeah, and remember to breathe!

Yeah but what I was saying is that on motorcycle tests you are not marked on mirror use. You still need to use them but won't be marked down for not looking in them.

In a car test you are expected to check your mirrors every 5-10 secs and marked down if not checked. These check boxes are crossed off for the class 6.

On the tests I took, if the rider looked confident and did not break any rules, he passed. The restricted test is really only looking to see if the rider has good control skills. It's not till the full that hazard ID gets marked.

Don't forget your licence. If you are more than 5 minutes late you will have to resit and repay.

A couple more points.............when changing lanes or pulling into traffic flow ALWAYS make a head check to check blind spot. This is one area where people lose heaps of points.

Relax.....some guys get so nervous that they don't see that the intersection is a stop and treat it as a give way. Result...test terminated!

Hi Lee, Volty is doing fine. Got hit from behind by a car in May  but we're all fixed up and on the road again. Sat my R test a couple of weeks ago and passed. Thanks for getting me off to a great start!
