Sigh. You know, the penalty for bike rustling should be the same as what the penalty for horse rustling used to be, since it amounts to the same thing.

Yep. The bad men usually wait until the insurance company place shiny replacements in your shed. After having his shed burgled 3 times, a good matey of mine in Scotland wired up the shed door handle to the electricity mains. He wasn't burgled again.

:angry2: What the feck!? There's too much of this shite going around lately - frikk'n useless lumps of DNA loosely termed "human".

Stealing from kids and obviously targeted since they knew where to go and what was stored ... buncha w***kers :nono: If they are passing it on to their brood to play with, how the feck can they justify stealing them off other kids?

Post up piccies if possible so we can identify the property and I'm sure somebody out there knows something...

I remember those piccies from way back! Heheh, something about getting the learn or something? Man, I hope your kids are okay ... these things piss me off even more when it concerns the kids ...

If you don't get them back (heaven forbid), put me down for $50 for a replacement fund starter. Or use the $50 to buy some interesting garden implements to do a hack job on the bastiches :angry2:

Hey mate, That fucking sucks big time, hope you catch the cunts.
Im sure we could think of some "creative" ways in which you can torture the culprits. My way isnt creative at all it involves a car battery and some jumper leads and various parts of their anatomy..

mate, if your going to do it, use an industial generator! jeeze do you know nothing lol

or you could dip their hands in 200 degree oil, most fish and chip shops have deep friers. That would most definately stop them from stealing again, if they managed to survive the septacemia.
Frosty, id be happy to put a couple of dollars aside to help go towards some new bikes for your kids.

Hey Frosty,

As a fellow westy, biker, dad and grandad who has suffered at the hands of these thieving types in the past, put me down for $25, for the kids sake. They need to know there are good guys too!

Will be keeping an eye out but if the insurance comes to nothing let us know eh.

Oh, and if you do find these mongrels, the harley and I are at your disposal....... :bash:

And do watch out for the replacements, Frosty!

Bugger it Frosty, just what your kids don't need to learn - that there are people like this out there.

I wonder what the legalities of hotwiring the shed would be . . .

Hope you get the bikes back soon and in one piece.

And I feel sorry for the kids whose lowlife dad stole these for. I bet they'd much rather have a dad that worked for them, like you did. Poor little buggers growing up in that environment. Cos I suppose they'll just do the same when they get big enough . . .

So unfair. Tis always hard to hear this sort of news. Too common, mores the pity.
As regards 'protecting' your shed - you're fucked there. It's even less OK than bringing a firearm to the party - it's setting a mantrap. Shopkeeper in Wairoa was done for putting nails in an underverandah hanging sign that was being smacked by kids jumping up, the resultant swing causing damage to the adjacent light. I don't know if the nails were discovered as intended tho. One can only hope....

FROSTY

cops were pretty helpful but still have to contact the insurance company

FROSTY
24th July 2007, 10:24
I have "strong susspicions" that the persons who stole the bikes were local "children" who live next to the park the boys play at.

Hey Frosty, go with that gut feeling of yours mate, my gut says you are bang on!....a guy I worked with was burgled, they knew it was the neighbours, the cops knew it was the neighbours, took a couple of months and they proved it!

Hope you get the boys bikes back, not fair!!

Sounds like a road trip up north with a blow torch and a pair of pliers, oh the smell of burning....um.....chicken,yeah.

some one saw those bikes being transported to that address or played on at your address, who ever stole them wont be able to hide them long before they start showing them off, print off some photos of your bikes and mail drop a 2km radius offering a reward for info, appeal to criminal element the only way it gets there attention...greed.

That farkn sucks man, fully, especially for the kids. Feel for ya man.

Had a guy in the shop on Saturday. Some scum had stolen his kid's quad and both helmets. State has already approved the payout!!Go STATE!!! I recently got taken out by a very young girl who was fully insured with State. They paid me $300 MORE for the bike than I paid for it 4 months prior & I paid top dollar for the bike (was a minta but) + never asked for receipts for replacement gear. They were even keen on replacing my jacket but after the 2nd time I told them it was fine they backed off lol. I mean what the fuck!!! Is this really an insurance company or have they recently been bought out by the salvation army  So yeah hopefully you get the same treatment.

If you don't get them back (heaven forbid), put me down for $50 for a replacement fund starter. Or use the $50 to buy some interesting garden implements to do a hack job on the bastiches :angry2:Since I had a wind fall on the insurance of my written off bike + replacement gear put me down for a fiddy as well if the insurance falls through

WOW---Ok folks ya know the story about every cloud having a silver lining.
The insurance company has come to the party 100%
They have agreed to REPLACE all 3 bikes. No money payout they are just gonna pay a bike shop a chunk of coin.
BUT THERES MORE--I mentioned I was thinking of upgrading the bikes to 80cc two wheelers and a 50cc two wheeler -- They just said NO PROBLEM -Just give us the serial numbers.
The only kicker is that 80's need to be insured under their own policy -50's arecovered under house n contents

Good to hear ... but the security issue is probably still there ... the bleed'n feckers are probably waiting for you to replace them with the insurance and hit you again :angry2:

I think an appropriate reception needs to await them ... something involving sharp objects, impaling objects, blunt objects, power tool objects, sawing objects... the list goes on

Remember! Get your retaliation in first! :msn-wink:

Hiya Frosty, glad to hear about the payout etc, just remember that thiefs always hit more than once with things like this, normally they break in and take things then wait for the insurance to pay out and hit again.
Just a warning as our office got hit 3 times in 2 months

ps: thought about a security camera? You can get some pretty cheap numbers on TM these days? Or what about "data dots". Doesn't stop the feckers stealin them just makes it impossible to do anything with them without getting caught.

Good that it sounds like this is being sorted Frosty, at least as far as getting replacements.

Another option could be the intruder alarms available at Dick Smiff or similar. They have a movement sensor like the wired ones you can get for house systems but it is a standalone unit with AA batteries, keypad and a loud alarm. Once armed, anyone entering will trigger the alarm. They cost about $50.
