Anza has been in palmy for so long its hard to remember it NOT being there.
I would say this about any shop no matter what they sell.
If you are happy with the deal when you sign it up then thats all that matters. If it all goes pear shaped with the bike its not just the shop that puts it rite, its the master importer / agency that says yes / no to any claim. I work for a Ford dealer and sometimes we say no and Ford say yes and sometimes its the other way round. There is also a heap of LAW to look out for you in most situations.
Cheers Paul.

Only been there once, i turned up on a filthy gsxr1000 with shagged tyres after the Stroud, Harris, McEwen trackday at minefield. They still let me out on a demo Buell xb12x to kill some time. My ANZA experience was positive.

I haven't been there for ages but do they still have those awesome free muffins with their coffee in the showroom on the weekends?

Us not so young chaps remember when the shop wasn't ANZA so "forever" has different meanings for different people.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'll find out if my bike is written off today or tomorrow and they seem to have some deals on new bikes (anyone got a good nick, new or newish Hornet 250 for sale?) but wouldn't drive 5 hrs for a service! Another thing that sticks in my mind would be to get the bike I want, maybe not the best price but something reasonable from the place I'd like to get it serviced at? Buy myself some favour with the shop?

Went and bought gear from them whilst in Palmy on holiday last year, didn't know which was best or crap re jackets, pants.Guy who dealt with me was good, knowledgeable and also said brand x was better than brand y even though I was thinking of brand y which was dearer option.Left feeling happy with helmet etc,and leaving us alone to think things over was good, damn some of the bikes were nice.Went there recently when looking for a car, sales guy shifted a couple so we could take for a spin all while raining, couldn't fault them.

I have only been in Palmie for a month but two different long term Palmie bikers recommended ANZA. I have found them to be really helpful, good advice re helmets clothing etc don't push you to the expensive ones necessarily. 86GSXR got his Daytona from there and it is sweet as....

Very good to deal with...Eddie in Sales is top bloke, very obliging.Highly recommend the workshop for servicing..Phil,Stu & Mike absolutely top guys, even work through their lunch break so i could get home before dark....probably why I travel nearly 400ks for a service, speaks for itself really. Shit...nearly forgot Paddy in the Parts...been good to me on more than one occasion....come to think of it, they're all bloody good down there. As I said before..Highly Recommended Cheers W

I went in there to see what they had around. A sales guy come up to me and asked what I was looking for. Seemed nice enough. I said I was looking for a 750-1000cc sports bike. He huffed and walked away.

I left.

Maybe he didnt have any, didnt care or was just having a bad day but I went to wellington and gave my money to crasherfromwayback at wellington motorcycles. Worked well for me.

My $89.93 (dont get anything for 2 cents anymore)

I've had patchy experiences. They sold me my ST1300 -- their demonstrator. They repaired the same bike after my Boxing Day 2005 off. Some folk love them, others the opposite. I'm ambivalently in the middle.

A big plus is that they're the only bike shop around that's open on a Sunday.

I bought my brand new Daytona from ANZA a few weeks ago. I've been in and out of there a lot over the years and the guys are always good. They're always relaxed and friendly and have a lot of experience.

My first service was done when I wanted it done and everything associated with my purchase was done very professionally.

Been there many times but have rarely bought anything due to their attitude. Arrived on the RG150 and was totally ignored, same when I had the BMW - the guy looked at me and at the bike and walked off to fuss over a guy on a Harley. If you are into Harleys they are your best friend.

My husband took a bike for a test ride - a bike costing close to $30,000 at the time - when he got back he had to hunt for someone to hand the key back to. He was expecting to be asked if he had enjoyed the bike, etc but the guy just took the key and walked off.

EVERY other bike shop in Palmerston North has provided me with better service. I don't expect to be fawned over, but I also don't expect to be judged by what I ride and whether my clothing has fringes or not.

Harley or Triumph, you are in, otherwise they don't wanna know, been in and ignored enough times not to bother anymore.

Turnbulls is also open Saturdays (or was.... has that changed??).

Bought my wifes Triumph for her 40th and took it to ANZA to get some work done as the bike was being hidden in those parts til her birthday. Got the call that all was fixed and everything was fine and travelled down as arranged to pick up on a Saturday. Started bike, put it in gear and it stalled, each time I put it in gear... turned out the clutch plate (or summit) was out of kilter but there was no one around to put it right!!! (This was not what needed fixing in the first place either...) Helpful staff rang around to find the boss to arrange a worker, but couldn't get him on cell or home, nothing...

Had to walk away, pissed off that we made arrangements to uplift so we could give bike to wifey that day, only to find they had stuffed up something and the big event was screwed...

A few hours later, we get a call saying it had been finally sorted... no apologies, nothing... Good they got it fixed, but not overly impressed at all...

it would be interesting to forward these posts on to Anza for comment, especially the harley bias comments?

Never heard a bad word about them. I used to deal with them YEARS AGO, and know they were very supportive of BEARS racing and some other stuff.

I know of no reason to avoid them.

I was there last weekend. No problem at regarding a test drive. They didn't try and push me into anything, and gave me a better deal than I thought on my trade in.
The new bike I bought was ready on time and they told me the first service, which is free, can be done here in Welly and the shop would forward the bill to Anza.

All in all a good experience. They weren't all over me like a rash, which I prefer, but gave me the time when I wanted it.

I'm sure they are well aware of KB and will see this... Mine may have been a one off, but they are all over the Harley riders...

4 of us went in at the end of May, tidily dressed, just kicking tyres admittedly but they weren't to know that and we were left alone, which was actually quite nice. A Harley pulled in and the guy in his dirty jeans, dirty leathers and dirty features had no less than three staff out to see him... We all commented later about that...

Been in many times and never once been impressed. Even after introducing myself and telling them where I was from, still not impressed.

They seemed more interested in dealing with Harley people in the shop rather than me and my friends (who were looking at buying a bike from them).
But thats just me.

That's just how it is. The REAL money for Dealers is in the Harley market. Oh how times change.

I know ANZA do some sharp deals although they are not popular with many other dealers around the country as they have forced many of them into matching their deals. Is tough on some of the smaller dealers.

So.............by all means buy from them but don't go bragging to your local shop about the deal.

I do know that many local guys will match them just to clear the stock.

My personal belief is stick with my local guys as much as possible.

If you call into ANZA and a tall skinny guy called Larry is in the parts dept, give him shit. Don't forget to tell him that only wankers ride speed triples....

My mate lives up in Parmerston North so we've been in there a few times and the people working there seem pretty friendly, we got to sit on all the bikes we wouldn't have a shit show of affording and were made welcome. I know a few guys from wellington that brought their bikes there that said they thought the place was really helpful when they got their bikes.

Yep, had muffins out there the other day when we were there. Open Sundays...thats a bonus. Have heard a few stories about them, but have had reasonable dealings with them, though havent bought a bike. Missus found two different pairs of boots that fitted her there, and had been unable to find any in Welly...young guy behind counter friendly and helpful...and patient!!!
Have some good gear specials too. We call by for a browse when passing....

They seem to have their good days and bad days and it helps if you ride a Harley. Bought my GB400 off one of the salesmen and he won't talk to my now I have a Kawasaki:dodge:. Workshop guys seem pretty good and I notice they have some good prices on new and ex demonstrator Hondas and Triumphs
