my bike got run over lol
lesson #669- dont park in mates driveways!

got to old chrislosts place parked me bike up in drive, i must admit beehind a 4wd but im sure the bike could be seen. so wee chating away when a distressed pearant wanders in and says they run over my pride and joy. . . . . .

nah no way couldnt be but yes! they did so i picked it up and looked at the damage, whole front fairing fucked left foot peg and a couple of scratches not bad considering it was a very big land cruiser

anyway insurance time yay new fairings oh and im sure this was working before. . . . oh and that. . . . . . hay didnt i used to have one of those?

but on aa serious note and as i said to mr chrislost wat the fuck does she see on the rd i mean if you cant see a bike in a drive only god knows if she'll see me hurtling up the centre lane at agreat amount of knots.!

I hope she put it in low-range before offroading over the CBR. Bad luck mate, hopefully the repair will get it running right!

Anecdote time: I was riding along Beach rd on the shore on my old two-fiddy and experienced the sheer joy of an urban assault vehicle coming the other way in the middle of the road. Now it wasn't a narrow road, the sort of road where you can fit a parked car and a moving car in the same lane. Evidently the silly tart driving the 4WD decided that wasn't enough space for her so drove down the middle of the road. It wasn't til I had squeezed past (was glad I wasn't in my car TBH) and realised that the reason I recognised the number plate was because it was MY MUM driving! Man, did I give her arseholes for that!

Still, it makes for a perfect retort every time she says "bikes are dangerous, sell yours" :innocent:

It's really hard to see out of the back of those 4wd's. You actually have to go so far as to turn your head and look....

Thats a great point! Maybe you shouldnt ride down the centre lane at great knots....?

Sorry to hear about your bike though.
Hope it all gets sorted.

Although the 4 x 4 driver was in the wrong..................I would park it in a place where an IDIOT would see it. Likewise, when following a car/van/truck, I stay well back, to retain my identity. Years ago a MAte on an RD350 was following a car closely down a Tauranga suburban street, - there was a car waiting to turn R once the car he was following passed. The turning car didn't see the bike shadowing the car. He died that day.

Only a fool dabbles in it, things have a habit of coming out years later. Be happy with the fact that whoever rode over it is obliged to fix it.
