Well its been about 6weeks now. Its a slow and boring proccess, but I can now lift my arm up higher than my shoulders!
Ive been getting physio twice a week since it happened.
My main problem was that my arm broke up by the shoulder joint as well as dislocated. It broke where all the tendons from the shoulder joint attach to the arm. Its a catch 22 really. I need to get movement in the joint, but everytime I do, the break doesnt heal.

I can now start training and getting strength back in it, so most of my day consists of stretching, training and more stretching.
Im just glad they didnt have to operate. Im considering myself very lucky!

Work has been really good about the whole situation. Im considering myself lucky to have a workplace so understanding.

Racing still isnt a happening thing. I simply dont have enough strength in the joint to hold myself up. So im working hard to get some strength back so I can be at the next round.
Have set a personal goal of 30 pressups before I race again.

Ill get there. It just takes time.:Punk:

6 weeks for me too Martin. Not a dissimilar problem. My issue is the rotator cuff tendons and muscles lying across the scapula fracture.

Have started 'official' strengthening work today but I'll be back on a bike at Taupo tomorrow so I'm doing OK.

I hear your frustration though!

Im pushing myself as much as I can without doing more damage. Its a very fine line between strengthening and doing more damage.

Hell yeah - you know your body better than anyone. Pain tells us to stop, but as you say it's a fine line between pain that damages and pain that heals.

Your injury is worse because you can't put weight on your shoulder, I'm lucky because I can and have been able to do so for quite a while. My injury just looks good in xrays and my sexy bikini back is no longer, but functionally I'm pretty good... :innocent:

Strength is still to come with some actions. Ask me tomorrow night how I get on on the track. I have been riding a small, lightweight bike with an upright position on the road for a couple of weeks and tomorrow will be on an RG150. Not ready for the SV yet. It's been a gradual process of building up on the bike. I couldn't drive at first either.

I rode my mates hornet yesterday. Didnt feel too bad, but its a big difference between that and racing.
