Just thinking it would be a good idea to get a run of KB T shirts printed for the adventure riders - How about "KiwiBiker Gravel Rats" - with the bi line underneath "Its better when its Slippery" (should get the odd laugh and start a few conversations!) and maybe your online name under that.

Folks, Just remember that the KiwiBiker name and logo is owned by SpankMe. So please put all ideas on this thread, but do try and keep to the original KB scheme as much as possible. I have sent a message to SpankMe and asked him to look at this thread, and see if he can incorporate the idea into his next KB clothing run. The final decision will be his.

I like the words. I reckon the pic needs to drop the knee-down sprots-bike and go for something more recognisably off-road. (If it is at all altered from the site logo)

Thank christ for the edit, I had no idea what you were on about!
(in fact I still haven't got a clue, but that's not unusual)

I might be interested in a Tee but depends on the final design, I'm not someone that wears advertising very comfortably......so keep it simple for me!

Howdy

I can get someone here in Hawkes Bay to print them if we can supply the design and the t shirts if no one else has anyone to do it
I would be happy to collect the money to pass on and dispatch the orders etc
They are also KB members

The text 'We like it rough and dirty" does need to be reasonalby big so the printer can cut them out to transfer to shirts, otherwise its pretty good

So if we can get approval from Spankme (or whoever) to proceed with using the logo, then lets do it

I have attached an image of the t shirt, please feel free to make any alterations/suggestions?
e.g should the text Kiwi adventure bikers also show on the back?

Well by my reconing design no 1 won the last round with a couple of mods as per the attached images (excuse the crappy work). I've added a twist of my own and put the web address above the logo else there are two lines of text below which doesn't look very balanced. Other thing is that all yellow on the back is a little bit much hence the handle is white.

By my guesstimates 15 people have put their hand up for one if not more so that should hopefully justify the effort.

I recon I could handle the vector image (been doing some reading) but I'm a geeky Engineer (math anyone) and completely crap at art. Is Glen interested (Marks???) or should I steal his design and have a bash? Dont know if it is any good but a bit of GNU (freeby) software that will produce SVG file (I assume this is what you need Spankme?) is called Inkscape.

The two posts of his that have rasters images of the images he created in vector format are and here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showpost.php?p=1175650&postcount=26) and here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showpost.php?p=1175672&postcount=28)

He doesn't have quite the right handwriting font but I'm not sure it is worth worrying about too much??

I've mentioned about putting the web address under the logo and this should be an easy mod.

What are others thoughts? Good to go with MSTRS work?

Once we are all happy I think we can get MSTRS to send the files to Spankme and hopefully he can start taking orders.

Please put all comments about the logo etc on this thread rather than the vector image thread so we can keep a track of things.

Hi, I argee with TA (a worry that!):dodge: I don't like it nearly as much without the 'hand writing'.

Call me stoopid if you like but what is a vector file? My version on PhotoShop apparently can save files as an .eps file which is one of vector files referred to by MSTRS? Is it just a matter of saving the existing .jpg or .bmp etc file as a .eps file or is there more to it than that?

When I was organising polo's for promotions at my previous work I'd just give the local printer place a paper copy of the logo or design I wanted and he'd do it. There was a $40 set up fee and then so much per shirt to do the printing. Presumably the $40 fee was for the graphic set up etc? Why can't we just do that? $40 odd spread over 20 or more tee's & polos is bugger all.

Cheers, TG. :ride:

A vector file is made up of outlines, with colour infill. If you have an 'art' program that allows a wireframe mode, then you will see what I mean. If the image is still a solid in wireframe, then it is not a vector image but rather is a bitmap. Jpg is a bitmap only, but eps and ai can be either

Hi team,

it appears some of the oiginal postings were lost with the KB hard-drive crash.....

Is this more graphic representation not more in keeping with the original logo

If we muck with the back end of the bike we are so far removed from the original logo, we may as well just design our own totally new one. I thought the idea was just to add enough of a knobbly etc to the original logo to make it stand out...... ( see my rough knobblies posted again for the 2nd time )

Relax, this was the last concept drawing, we have made the corners of the knobs sharp in this one, blow it up to full screen/ Tee shirt size and step back, they look 3D. Just not happy with the top and especially bottom knob positions and orentations, or the notches in the sides as you wouldn't normally see them all the way round.
The peak has been made sharper too, most the rest of the logo has pointy ends to it's curves.

Just out of interest here is the original sketch that the logo was designed from... found deep in the bowels of KB. You can kind of see from that that the left knobs should disappear over the top of the tire out of sight near the front and bottom.

Awesome but now you just need to put the original edges back (with a notch or two in the outside edge) and tidy it up a bit. Thats perfect for me to caderise it.

Cause Nordies image is a raster rather than vector I though I'd have ago at tracing it in Cad but frankly I suk at it (harder than coloring :stupid:) and I recon it sux. I'm going to get little sister to have ago at it some time over the weekend if she has time. Much better at drawing than me.

I still think we need to keep the original outlines of the back wheel albeit modified with the knobbly's. If we went to simply what Nordie did I think it is too far from the original.

Anyway - my lame attempt from lunchtime.

Yep, I still vote for Carl's version in post #95, as is discussed above, we are still only a splinter group from the main KB group, so we need to keep the basic lines of the site drawing in order to be recognised by the rest of the KB surfers.....

Looking good fellas, amazing how mch teamwork and discussion has gone into this, but as discussed, we only get one hit at it.

If we get enough pencilled orders, can we get the price per shirt down a bit possibly ???

There seems to be lots of interest in these, so if we ( the adventure riders lot :headbang:) got some sort of organised list organised with numbers per size, any chance of a bit of a discount  off the $35 per shirt if we can get well over the 20 minimum ? :niceone:

just remember the proceeds go to a good cause, keeping the KB site alive.

But there are two types of business model, ( the model used by the Sony for example ) make a lot of money per unit and sell a limited amount or ( the model used by the Warehouse for example ) make a small amount per unit and sell heaps of them

After all, I'm fairly confident that I could get myself a plain blank decent quality ( as in long lasting, not designer ) T-Shirt for $15 or less at quite a few places and I'm sure T-Shirt printers get them for a lot less again, and after all every shirt out there is a straight out advert for the site, in other words we are paying for the honour of promoting the KB site.

I'm guessing probably 80% of the bikers I know have never heard about it until I mention it to them, so every shirt out there gets more people to the site.......

I see on the merchandise page it also mentions postage of $6 per shirt ( as opposed to what other option, downloading the shirt off your PC ?? ):shifty:

This make the cost per shirt ($35) with a riders KB pornstar name added ($12) and postage ($6) a mere $53 per shirt......

I'd take 3 or 4 if we could sharpen the price a bit :Punk:, but at $53 each, 1 for sure, low possibility of 2..... :bye:

I'm not knocking anyones right to a profit, but afterall the adventure team did come up with this idea, and at the right price point, I'm sure we could shift quite a few

Just my 2 cents worth, Cheers, Stu :scooter:

Well I have the vector files so the only things left to do are:

Decide on the actual size of the screen prints. Remember it has to fit on small shirts, but not look too small on XXXL shirts. Use the current KB shirt logo as a guide.

This is a XXS shirt.

So am I right in saying that the shirts are going to be $41 with an extra $12 if we want our KB name added ?:shit:

Question for the guys:mobile: ( riders that designed this idea:niceone: ) here, weren't we going to have the adventurebike logo yellow outline / drawing on black T's without that yellow 'Square ' around it:oi-grr:, that way the actual logo could be a lot bigger ?

I recon make the text about 200mm wide across the front (A4 Page is 210mm wide as a comparison) (I'm an XL and it is roughly nipple to nipple (ohhhh did somebody mention nipples :shifty:) The Logo on the back I would make about 250mm wide (A4 Page is 297mm wide as a comparison). This is pretty big and wouldn't go much bigger but been testing around the office and I think this is about right.

Basically an A5 in landscape on the front and a A4 in landscape on the back.

One thing to think about when getting this done Spankme is getting the logo in the right location so it doesn't look too far to the right given the lack of color above the roost. The center of the rear wheel needs to be slightly left of center but you and the printer can sort that hopefully.

Outlook express... hiss, cringe... do you have any anti spam filters or software set up that might wrongly caputre Spanks emails or just as bad are you using an xtra email address? Last I heard they are still having issues with mail not getting out sometimes and email not getting in either. Have a guy just a week ago that claimbed to be emailing me but nothing has ever arrived.
If ya are xtra and can't get through then try using a gmail or yahoo email address if I were you... for this time at least... or yea, PM him and hope he's ok with it.

I sent again without the sig, did you get it? If not, goto mail.yahoo.com and look in ya spam folder and hit the "not spam" button.

Dumbass here don't unnastand any of that! :( Use xtra & outlook but got no email. Wouldn't have a clue where to find my spam folder. Can you PM your a/c number to me. Thanks

You use xtra.. ok what if you go to your web browser instead of Outlook and log in to xtras webmail (http://xtra.co.nz/home/0,,15021,00.html) from there? I wonder if xtra have a spam folder displayed that way?

I just got my reply from Spankme to the original request - must have got fucked up in Xtra's system. Hopefully the others waiting will have also got it now

Xtra sucks at the moment. I am in the process of changing to ihug as I'm losing about half my emails from xtra. I also didn't receive Spank's email, but fortunately I already had his bank account details from an earlier transaction.

Well...you've got their emails, can you not send the :buggerd:'s a reminder to pull finger and honour their commitment? (not that you should have to but people sometimes need a shove). With Stu's order you're now over the 20 shirts threshold so hopefully it won't be too long now :) Cheers.

Well by rights us South Islanders should be first to get their orders dispatched because remember......

You Jaffas need the shirts to look cool

Us mainlanders need them to keep warm :cold:

Not much better in the south of Italy. Currently at 1500m in the swis alps at 9am and it is 10 degrees. Looking forward to the artic circle.
