In the back of my mind is to one day do a ride overseas, I would like to take my bike but am unsure what the costs of freight are. I am sure that some of you would have sent your bikes overseas and am interested in the sort of costs involved to send a bike.

I am not after exact figures just an indication of what it costs to send a bike to;
Australia
Los Angeles
South America
South Africa

I realise that weight etc will all play a part in the cost but if you can give me an indication that will be good (also if the cost if for air or sea freight)

Have you had a look at horizonsunlimited.com? there's a bit of info there on freight prices.

Cheers

From what I have heard air freighting it over is not much more expensive than shipping costs - to Australia anyway - and less of an inconveniance.

Biketranz can arrange international bike freight, they need to know destination, dry weight, length, and total value, for insurance purposes. Email them.
