Ditch the girlfriend, you'll find one that understands eventually.

Go to the bike wreckers - most have pipes sitting to the side, if they dont have one that fits, you can get an extender pipe for about $50. Thats how i got a ZX9 pipe on teh ZXR4

HI
Keep an eye on trademe for 2nd hand mufflers - may have to pay someone
to make it fit for you so that will add to cost somewhat.
Brand new unrestrictive "poverty priced" scorpion mufflers start from about $500 in stainless.
You can spend twice that for others or half that 2nd hand.

Gidday CBR 97,
Where abouts in Auckland are you ? There are several mods that can be done to the stock can to make it sound a bit more "Fruity" & keeping the stock can won't compromise performance...
"12"'s are a perculiar beast when it comes to fiddling with exhausts, the stock system is a very efficent design from factory...
The best "Slip On" (utilises the stock mount on the headers) is the Yoshimura "Zyclone", whether or not you can still buy one new remains to be seen - Mat Mladdin in Australia is now the agent
Next best IMHO is the Remus - expect to pay big coin for these, but, they are a work of art...
I wouldn't bother with any of the other brands personally...
Muzzy, Yoshimura & Akrapovic all do full systems for them - but of course it depnds on what you want to spend...
I can do your stock can for $350.00...
P.M me if you are interested
Cheers
