I think ive settled on my bike of choice, got enough cash to buy new so i think im gonna go for a GT250R from TSS. should be up and running in the next couple of months, got my license and what not already. its all so exciting, cant wait to get out on the roads. :Punk:

black...cool, make sure you dont make yourself too invisible though
having said that...yeah black is pretty cool, if you can make it look like this...

thats exactly what i want, black on black with the tinted screen and no stickers. looks mean!
hopefully wont be too invisible, but from what ive heard so far it doesnt seem to matter what color you or your bike are, cagers just ignore you.

That's a fairly offensive handle you've chosen for yourself.
Should be grateful it's not kiddifucker, I suppose.
Welcome, anyway.
I think.

puppykicker - kiddifucker? thats an interesting association. i'm a vegetarian and have never kicked an animal in my life, ive used this nick for years. :innocent:

Ahh the beauty of an online forum... call yourself what you will...
If at a later stage anyone wishes to change their handle (IF) all it takes is a PM to a senior mod.

You can steal my money, abuse my name and shoot my cat but by god if you kick my puppy, watch out..!

PK - like colapop says, you can call yourself what you like. And you are probably a lovely person.
But I find your name increadibly offensive and cannot understand why anyone would choose it and think it was a harmless title or joke.
I've had something to do with abused animals and rescues and seen the result of "puppykicking" (death). And there is a proven correlation between animal abuse and child abuse. The same sort of halfwitted inbred dickheads do it.
It's not something to be made light of. I think if you had ever spent time in the receiving area of the spca you would not choose your name.
But each to their own. You've got every right to choose your name. But it makes my blood boil.
End of lecture . . .

i have actually done some work for the spca here in welly a few years back, and ive seen the results of animal cruelty, i dont think its particularly funny either. my humble apoligies if i have offended you, but im not changing the name.

I'm with janno on this one...what about "dickwad" or something similar?

im sorry, let us never speak of anything offensive again. i mean the world would be a better place if all anyone ever said was what you wanted to hear right?

The world is a better place if we try and be positive and look to the good rather than the bad...

which is why you are attacking me based on a nick you find distasteful?

Correct. You are not going to change it so lets leave it at that....

anyway back on topic - welcome to the forum, if youre getting the GT250R from TSS ask them about getting the add-ons, I was in their Monday and they are now selling them with Cycleworks Exhaust(sounds lovely), tinted screen, and smaller indicators front and rear - looks mean as in black.
Oh and yes i have a GT250R black with black frame and rims, great bike.

damn nice. now get a good can for it to bring out the Vtwin power hahhaha. or at the very lease debaffle it.

2nd August 2007, 08:19
new tyres, new can, braided brake lines, new pads, pillion seat cover, fender eliminator, i think im going to be broke for a very long time....
carbacca
2nd August 2007, 08:36
new tyres,
wouldnt worry about that for a wee while, the stock tyres arent great but no point in throwing out a perfectly ok set of rubbers just to get new ones
new can,
get a long drill bit and debaffle it in the mean time, works quite well
braided brake lines,
havent looked at this myself, seems a bit costly though but probably worth it
new pads,
not THAT expensive, but you do have to get two pairs
pillion seat cover,
havent even found any of those for sale actually. there is a company in wellies i think that does race fairings (check trademe) and they have the mould for a whole rear section
fender eliminator,
go all the way and get an LED tail assembly, though it will set you back 250USD + shipping. or you can do a hackjob on the existing fender
all in all it might not costs as much as you think, just work it up slowly
unless you want it to look like this

Enjoy your new wheels puppykicker.(can i in future abbreviate it to pk?)
Heard only good things about the Hyosungs. Just stay alert, as black bikes are difficult to see, especially at night.

3rd August 2007, 07:52
pk is fine by me. went for my first ride on the road last night, im bloody nervous of traffic, but ive got the feel for the bike now, its great fun to ride, plenty of power to get my slightly overweight ass moving, and real nice and smooth. im sore today though, think its gonna take me a while to get used to the riding position on a sportsbike.
i do have one problem though, i have a jacket with quite bulky shoulder armor, and between that and the chin of my helmet i cant get my head around far enough to actually see directly behind me without taking my hand off the bars. i can see the lanes on either side just fine, and i can see if anything is behind me as long as its 15m or so away, but not directly behind the bike. is this normal?
carbacca
3rd August 2007, 08:17
you shouldnt have to look directly behind; dont know about other but yeah i cant do that either :P. only time its probably acpplicable is when youre backing your bike but that will be at lot speeds anyways so its not a problem. i find that if i want to get a better view behind be i tend to shift my head left and right a bit so i change the viewpoints in the mirror a bit so i can see better

maybe time for a change

change to what?
thanks carbacca, good to know im not too dangerous :innocent:

3rd August 2007, 09:44
I've discovered that I can look directly behind me if I make an effort to stretch my neck out and tilt my chin up a bit as I turn my head, to keep my helmet out of the way of my shoulder. But that was on a bike with no mirrors, under normal circumstances you probably don't need to turn your head quite that far. Could be a useful skill though. I would recommend practising it stationary a few times. It was less than ideal having to learn on the open road on an unfamiliar bike.
