I need new disks for my bike (RF900). I have sourced a rear disk and need to source a couple for the front. They are 5 stud, 310mm disks. Anyone got any lying around somewhere? Yes, buy brand new is the best option but if I had that sorta money ($440 each) then I wouldn't be posting this. My disks are currently 4.1 & 4.2mm so the need to be replaced.... I don't mind paying a reasonable price for some that'll last me till I can save enough to get new ones.
Below are some pics of the ones I have (if it helps.)

Another question - I was in the bike shop and he pulled out the book (?) to show me which models the disks are the same on - anyone know where I can see the comparable list online?

SV1000 is 310mm, as is the 06/07 GSXR1000 iirc.

Whoa, nope. They are common to the Bandit 12 & that is about it.

Go to EBC site (google it lazyarse). I bought mine from Cyclebrakes.com (http://www.Cyclebrakes.com) in the US. Think I landed them for $600 a pair, but a while ago

Local stuff is very patchy, I've heard bad stories of both main types.

Is that the site that has a comparisson of interchangable parts? Do I really have to google it?

Dude you are in full on atrophy mode. Can your co-workers tell you apart from your swivel chair?

If I was a caring considerate chap I would look all this info up for you. Actually I had a quick peek. Sadly I don't feel like elaborating. What can I say? I'm a complex guy.

EBC Pro-Lite rotors USD$170 each

I've a link below, but can't say if they ship international:

http://www.cyclepages.com/ProductGroupDisp.aspx?ProductGroupID=4001153

I replaced warped OEM Honda discs on my VTR with Pro-Lites 30,000k ago, no problems. These came from onlineparts.comNice one guvna, ok I sussed out the prices & converted to NZ $$. Looks like for 2 fronts & a rear will cost $615 + post + pads of course.

Ive been quoted here in New Plymouth $896, no post & it includes pads all round.

Mmmmm. Not a huge dif me thinks <_<

ps: I copy pasted this from my thread.

For your original question the fronts are $170US each which = $445NZ the pair + post + pads.

I only searched RF900 parts as I couldn't be assed to see if there was a dif between some of the other models sharing the same disks :innocent:

*cough*

Yes im drunk right now :drinknsin

Well to be honest you never really know until you ask. Shipping may be cheaper than getting from the States but what's the difference in the initial price?

Also, what construction methods are employed? Are they cheap stamped out rotors, or laser cut from high carbon steel? Remember you get what you pay for...

Mine had brand new replacements when I got mine. Premier brand SS06. High Carbon steel laser cut. 35,000 kms later they still work okay with minimal wear - I'll probably get another 35,000 kms out of them I reckon unless something tragic happens. Look at my portfolio pic to see what they look like.

I don't believe the NZ ones available on trademe are laser cut (maybe machined) and I don't believe I've heard anyone rave about them. However I don't think I've heard anyone bag them AFTER using them - plenty have bagged them without touching them though.

I would seriously suggest that you talk to Whites about these rotors and find out about construction techniques, what sort of steel in them etc before committing your hard-earned.
