Well the time is nearly upon us.

We are leaving Auckland.

Many thanks to all those KBers that turned up to help with weeding and gardening and making our house look spic and span ready for the FOR SALE signs. you know who you are ;)

We already have our first offer and we'll probably be heading off at the end of September.

Haven't yet decided where we're going though but it'll be South Island. Anywhere except west coast (too wet) and Christchurch (too busy).

I've travelled all over the South Island a couple of times now so I'm pretty happy with our decision to move there.

So we're looking forward to meeting a few Mainland KBers this summer and if anyone hears of a job going gimme a shout.

The Job I am leaving is that of Commercial Manager for a Media Company.

Basically my job covers purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit management, employment contracts, rosters, bank recs, disciplinary actions, business analysis, process improvements, annual expenditure budget, board reports, invoice processes, market analysis and anything else that anyone in the group of companies needs someone to work out.

So if you know of someone that needs someone to run their business for them send me a PM.

Cheers.

McJim and Chickadee (and Mini McJim1 and Mini McJim2)

See ya......

Have fun down south....... just remember ya can't ride in the snow.....
Unless you can buy chains for the bikes....

Don't forget to buy ya thermals before you go....... they are cheaper up here than down there.

If you go near Dunedin, you can get away with rolling ya rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr's
Cos many come from Scottish stock down that way.

Have enjoyed going out on rides with you guys as well.
Oh and Jamie ya do make a nice cuppa gumboot tea.
Chickadee - cheers for all the chats we have had over a cuppa etc etc.

You guys will be missed.......

Good for you guys.

All the very best on the move down and I hope it doesnt take too long for everybody to settle in.

Marlborough gets my vote and in particular a little place called Pelorus near Blenheim.

Invergiggle's the place - and I hear that they need a new mayor (the old one is past it's use-by-date).

The important question is.... are you going to be riding down there on the bikes or you packing them up for transportation!

I can always volunteer to ride one or the other down and just catch a flight back up or ... buy another RZ (working) down in SI and ride that back up!

All good, I'm sure the climate will feel more Scottish like and it seems you're going to where all Scotsman end up in NZ! :devil2:

Good excuse to come down for a ride your way too! :scooter:

Have you considered Tautapere? Sausages there are world famous in NZ!

Plan is to buy a 3 bike trailer and send all the furniture and stuff in a container to storage in South Island and then drive down in convoy with the bikes on the back (That way if we do a tikki tour we can always get a bit of riding in too!) kids are too young to sit pillion.

Ah McJim, Chickadee!

Twas a pleasure to meet you both. Thanks for all the help with my bike, thanks for breaking my brake lever ;), but most of all, thanks for taking the time to care!

You'll be missed on the Auckland rides! Who will be around to pull GiJoe out of the bush?

Make sure you let us know when your going. You'll be getting a KB escort out of Auckland.

Hi to you both.
September is a great time here on the Mainland, for years and years and years. Hope you find work and somewhere great to settle.
Don't worry about Scumdog, his bike is worse than his bite!
Cheers, hope to meet you on the road.:grouphug:

Commercial Manager? Here I was thinking you were a nice bloke.

How about Milford Sound? There's no sandflies there capable of exsanguinating a 3 year old in 12.5 seconds.

There's only one place to go if you want to get away from "it" - Golden Bay. Everywhere else is filled with Sth Islanders and Tourists.

Golden Bay? - great except for the volume of wasps.
Never see that many wasps buzzing around down here - get rid of the wasps and I'd agree.

All the best to you McJ and your clan ,may the Sth Island be kind to you (it will be except for Scummy )and may you always keep it rubberside down. Ps you know there`s no Coro Loop down there?

bollox the coro loop - the south islands one huge gnarly loop dude.

McJim
13th August 2007, 19:50
The other advantage of the south island is you don't need a radar detector - just a copy of the Police roster - when Scumdogs off shift and on the Scotch you can do what you like on the highway

bollox the coro loop .

Them`s fighting words, the loop was created for riders , but I have heard good things about the Sth Is and the (unutilised) lack of Helen`s gatherers down that way.

From what heard the coro is like some form of side-show merry-go-round.

Yeah - we're not really doing it the conventional way. Put the house on the market then waited for an offer on the house before resigning.

Offer recceived and resignation duly submitted.

I am now looking for gainful employment in the South Island coz that's where we can get a bit of family support. So far we have had little practical support in raising our kids which means poor Chickadee has spent most of her time with the kids while I spend half my time at work and the other half commuiting to/from work.

So I am looking for opportunities in the South Island but outside Christchurch.

Applications out so far to Invercargill and to Nelson. Waiting for suitable advertisements from other parts of the south island though.
