Hey - does anyone know where the best place is to go for a reasonably priced pair of bike boots for my wife? Problem is, she's got very small feet, only a 4 or 5 (I think that's a 36 or 37 Euro), so many boots don't go that small.
As she's only going to be riding occasionally, we don't want to spend too much. She was wearing some dress boots, but they won't fit over or under her leathers, and the other pairs she's got have high heels, so they interfere with the zorsts (and the heelplate on one of them scratched the shiny stainless steel. Grrrr... - have to get her out in the gargre with the Autosol:yeah: )
Any ideas? I've been checking CashPerverters from time to time, and TradeMe, but like I said, here feet aren't huge...

Let her ride shoeless. When her feet drop off from frostbite, or are amputated in an accident, you can just build her a pair of ankle-stub rests by the kitchen sink.

I'm enjoying it while it lasts... It has been commented on at home (many times :( ) that she would speak to me more if she signed on...

My wife bought some size 5's from Mt Eden a year or so ago that are a pretty high spec. They're not race grade but certainly a good stiff boot for the road. Can't blimmin remember what brand they are but give them a call (303 1960) and I'm sure they'll tell you. Not a bad price either

Oxtar have down to a size 36 available in the Sunray boot (ladies boot).

I think you can get them thru AMPS.

Otherwise I picked up some lined leather boots in Overland for my other half, they even have high heels to keep her happy.

I'm a size 37 and find it a mission to get good fitting boots - most comfy boots i ever tried on were Dainese and I should have bought the buggers!

.
One of my bike mates from Auckland bought a pair of Sidi race boots, her feet are really small and she'd not found any to fit. Can't remember where she got them from, I have a feeling the shop got them in specially for her, she was really rapt with them.

Firestormer: do they have to be bike boots? What about something like Doc Martens? they are pretty sturdy. Or The Last Footwear Company I think do a calf-length sturdy lace-up boot? (not sure if you've got a LFC in Auckland though)

Good luck!

Celtic Sea Lily: did you ever manage to get your boots?

My wife brought a pair from ANZA Motorcycles in Palmerston North last weekend. Cost $150 and but actually look pretty dam good, I think her ones are a size six.
I'll find out what brand they are tonight and maybe post a photo.

I'll find out what brand they are tonight and maybe post a photo. Now that's a better price. I found some at Mt Eden for $329, and some others at Motomail: Forma (38 was the smallest size) for $329, and Can't Remember the Pharking Brand (36 up) for $349-ish.
Yeah, I should just buy some good ones, but given that we still have to replace the (borrowed) BMW System 3 helmet, and get some glubs (she's wearing a pair of my crappy old ones), we're looking at ~$800 of expenditure for what may be only a few rides a year.

Sweet, I'll get the info tonight. She's pretty happy with them and normally she has problems buying shows, something about fallen arches or something.

I'll make sure she wears them home tomorrow night and I'll post the details.
