Gang members arrested at unveiling
Three gang members have been arrested as police swooped on the unveiling of a notorious gangster's headstone

3 August 2007
Police have seized firearms and arrested three Mongrel Mob members at a Maketu cemetery.

The gang members had turned out for the unveiling of a headstone for a notorious mobster.

Triple M Ford, nicknamed Littleman, died last August and was buried after gang members took his body on a road trip around the North Island, visiting graveyards and prisons. Ford had a list of convictions which included manslaughter.

Police swooped on gang members who had gathered at the Maketu cemetery at around 7.30 last night and seized a large calibre pistol and a .22 calibre rifle.

Senior Sergeant Carl Purcell says three people are facing charges which range from firearm offences, resisting arrest and failing to appear in court. He says more gang members are expected at the cemetery today.

Pats on the back all round.

Top man - good post.

My personal experience last week... following a car that was havng trouble stying in the lane...

uh oh... drunk at the wheel... Note number plate.. wait for cops... nothing. Traffic snarls up on the NW motorway... I start splitting and LO!

A car with Red and Blues on top. Signal "pull over" she does, give rego and description of car. Car goes past 3 mins later, blues and twos come on and Hello!

Job done. Not sure if they were drunk or useless behind the wheel but either way they needed a tap on the shoulder!

so... just because they are at a cemetery visiting the grave of a fellow loser (and i know mr mmm ford - he was a very dangerous man) they are exempt from carrying weapons of this nature? they are NOT members of the public. they are scum who identify themselves as gang members, who carry illegal firearms for criminal purpose, and as such have foregone the rights that normal law abiding citezens are afforded.

Have to admit, not a job for the faint hearted.
They chose to go there, I wouldn't, as a rule. Nice to see scum banged up.

Nice to see scum banged up.

I prefer to see them where MMM is now.... waste of space, burden on taxes, users of good oxygen...

No, No, no. This is not the KB way. Cops are to be scorned, argued with, villified and scorned again. They are not to be praised no matter how good a job they may do.

But :2thumbsup to all those involved anyway. I know I've said it before, but I respect those guys on the front line despite the poor leadership from the politicians.

Wait til summer...cosy warm in winter with just a shirt on underneath it. Come the heat of summer, if those out there can't see the cars by now, you sure as hell will smell us if we are near...

Yes I can imagine the pong after wearing that vest all day in the hot sun with the unbreathable reflective jacket that 'must be worn' over the top... oh and don't forget the hat... you can catch crims without wearing that hat....
