Well, this has got me stumped, and rather than pay $1.99 a minute to talk to a Trademe tech I thought it'd be far easier to ask the great pool of knowledge that is KB.

I have been trading on Trademe for a wee while now. I ALWAYS put a buy now on my auctions, and have never had a problem. Today I noticed that my auctions are not showing a Buy Now. I've got a number in the Buy Now box, I can't find any other boxes to tick, yet my auctions aren't showing a Buy Now. I've read the help section on Buy Now's- no help there...

What have I missed? Bling for the first helpful answer.

Could be someone's placed a bit on your auction. BuyNow disappears once a bid's placed.

I think this happens once the top bid gets within 15 percent of the reserve price (or similar).

Right you are! TradeMe's help confirms this:

A Buy Now price can only be added before any bids have been placed on an auction.

Authenticated buyers can purchase the item immediately at the Buy Now price by clicking the 'Buy Now' button, but must do so before the reserve price is met. The 'Buy Now' option is only available until the reserve price is met.

Got it sussed. For some bizzarre reason, you can no longer see the Buy Now button on you own auction!! I logged out and back in as my wife and Behold! There it was. Thats just bloody daft! Hopefully its a temporary hiccup

Perhaps you are not an authenticated person and your wife is?

Na, I'm authenticated alright. I'm not sure whats going on- I definitely used to be able to see the Buy Now button on my own auctions

Your are right it has been like this for some time, but if you click on the link in the Left hand column, under the Selling section, click on Items I am selling and it comes up there

It wont so on individual auctions

Cheers

Ah, I see. I only noticed it was gone when someone asked me how much I wanted for something- I was muttering away about him asking me how much something would cost when there is a Buy now price clearly displayed... then I relised it wasn't there! As it turns out, it WAS there, and the guy is indeed a twat.

Trademe have bugs in their system at the moment, I experienced a wierd occurence 2 days ago, when i deleted all the items out of my "items I lost" tab, and when you go back to "my trademe", it says they are still in there, but when go click on the lost items link, the page is empty.

I emailed them, and they said they are working on it.
