God, I cant believe its last year when I ventured on my first major solo ride, I made it from Dunedin, and stayed there for 10 days, talk about kicking the arse out of that one.!! I had the most fantastic ride and cant wait for it to happen all over again.

I met the most amazing people there, look out Westport and you Non KB Christchurch crew, prepare to be rugby tackled once more - Craig!

I didn't see you there, Ghost Bullet, or did? I it was all such a blur.

Will only be doing 4 days there this year, I start at Carters as a Timberstores Person, on 20th Aug, so will get arse down head up to book time off, when starting there, seems appropriate eh, Woodybee, goes to work in a Timber yard:laugh:

Anyway, see you all there, let the snow melt and sun shine, and those wheels roll:clap::bleh::soon::scooter:

who's going friday am meet at Hurunui pub go rainbow or tar seal easy either way

cheers keithYou won't going or coming via Rainbow. I spoke to the station yesterday about getting access for the weekend and was told that there was a slip a week ago which probably won't be repaired by rally weekend, also there's heavy snow at Island Pass (near Lake Tennyson) which they reckoned we wouldn't get through either. I also tried to arrange access through Molesworth, but was declined due them already having a push bike event on that weekend and having to arrange their work around this and not wanting us in there at the same time.

I'll be leaving Christchurch at 3pm on the Friday and heading straight to the rally (tar all the way). I love to get away earlier but my mate on his KLR650 can't get away from work before that :wait:

Saturday - we'll do a day ride somewhere, probably over Maungatapu and ............ ? Somewhere else - dunno where yet?:spudwhat: The start time on Saturday will depend on how Friday night goes :apint::drinkup: Saturday wasn't too flash last year :sick::doctor:

Sunday - home via Wakefield, back roads to St Arnaud, Rotoroa, Porika track, Maruia Saddle. Plans are very loose at this stage, but planning to spend all day getting home away from the black top as much as possible.

You're welcome along on as much of this as you want, some for anyone else ...

well it all looks like we are ready to rumble, dont have to lean my bike up against a tree no more, altho even getting the right part meant actually getting a part we dont think it quite right... ;) confused??
well the new stand is actually 30mm shorter than the old, which means the bike would have leaned over a whole lot more than previously, and it already had a good lean on the stand.
So we have had to do some modifications... and its all sweet now, so roll on TOMORROOOOOOOOWWWWWW :niceone:

Maybe if they carry my makeup ill be nice........ as long as they dont have steven segals ponytail to go with the coat:puke:

I can lend (grudgingly) Dangerous my tassled jacket but the ponytail is beyond my abilities....

PS Green with envy, turns out I DO have the weekend off but CB has gone up the 'noth-island' to a wedding and with running so many bikes and V8s I can only get to so many rallies and rod-runs a year.....roll on the Magpie!!

And although my bike is available from the automotive electrician tommorrow, I dunno if I'd trust it for a trip to Nelson before I ride the ass off it around CHCH and NOT run into some dodgey electrical intermittent wiring

Farrrk!
What kind of bikes do you run..some sort of Eytie electrical Chernobylls or something???????

Well its been done, over and did!!
An excellent weekend all around. Honed my riding skills, honed my drinking skills, of which I turned backward for the Saturday night, As part of a Friday night recovery regieme.

Set off just after 8.30 with the slightly less than Sensible one, over the Lewis, stop at Springs for a drink and leak, over to Reeton at Dawsons pub, through the upper Buller to Murch, Fuel, off to the lakes for a stop, Renwick, and up over the top back into Nelson. The arse was weary, but the ears was in Heaven. Me new C-fibre tinny lived to my desires(after gettin it on just a few days before). Set the Tent, had a drink:apint:, a cook-up of a "Big Eat" product. And shimmied back to the bar tent for the night. Ummm it was a great one with plenty of laughs and whatever, along with blank bits:blank:

Sat morn and the run up over dem der hills (Takaka ways) Was the she-it! you could not wish for more, weatehr held in there as well.

Sat night, I did not realy intend to touch any tainted hydrating fluids, but was tempted to have a few By Mr S. But remained very tame. Watch that magic show, the first for a rally??? Bits were good'ish.
The band was :2thumbsup (am I sarcastic???)

A bit-o the damp stuff over the nite, and a great run home, and the bod is again feeling ragged.

Yet to get through any pictures, and the what little vid clips I did take.

Great to meet a few more faces, even though some I have most likely forgotton again.

Well me gotta go do stuff... I will be tellen ya wen I got some pics to looky at.:buggerd:

Oh yeah and followed a Duck-ati often over the weekend, and 3k's from home got a live one in the head... it was like just floating in mid air... until it and my helmet colided. Ironic.

I heard you were a bit under the top on friday night... falling over and suchlike

Ah well, had a bloody beaut time away, really good having that extra day to just cruise up to Nelson, good weather after we got out of chch. I love that piece of road after Springs, and hardly any traffic either which makes for a fun blat. Friday night was tops, the band was excellant, and the company was ... interesting, I'm still wondering about that 'schnauzer' bloke tho skirtstergal, what an odd one!
Saturday we cruised over to Takaka, man that hill is a fun piece of road... it seems to just go on and flippin ON. Then back to the rally site in the arvo to watch the entertainment as well as wait for the saturday lot to arrive, which they eventually did, altho they did loose a couple of riders along the way, and got a slap on the wrist for it when they did arrive. :spanking:
Saturday night we had a bit of rain to contend with so it was... in the marquee, out of the marquee... in the marquee, out of the marquee...
But the highlight of the night just had to be the bodybuilders after the wet Tshirt comp... OMG, I dont really know if I wanted a front row seat but I certainly got it! It was... INTERESTING and novel, and good luck to them at the world champs :2thumbsup
Sunday woke to some misty drizzle cloud, not sure what to expect... whiteout over the wangamoas and then perfect thru to Blenheim where the norwester kicked in. Ah well at least it wasn't raining and it was a sidewind. Picked up some hitchhikers along the way, of the small metal variety, so one VFR with fresh bit a brown goopy stuff in the tyre at Blenheim and that was good to go. The other made it back to chch luckily.
Managed to stay out of the laws sights for the weekend, so all in all an excellant weekend. Lets do it all again in 3 weeks for the Magpie huh?

Tho some of us have another rally and tiki tour to get thru first, roll on the Buellbabes & co mid sth lsland tour to the Buell Rally in St Arnaud next week :2thumbsup

Awesome weekend, 1200kms over three days on some of the best roads in the country, suspect associates, lots of alcohol, lack of sleep....

Highlights:
- the roads, the roads, Lewis Pass, Rahu, Buller Gorge, Takaka, Rai, Hundalees, all great.
- SVBoy not able to cope with standing for extended periods of time
- Two Italians, One German and running repairs to the.....German
- Dinner and breakfast, thank you Watties
- Beans, beans, and beans...

Lowlights:
- The noise of the Griso with the CF can, how offensive!
- The band on Sat evening, really, really bad
- The road from St Anaud to Renwick, people complain about the Canterbury plains

Bring on the Magpie.

Hey Dudes, and Dudess's

What a fantastic weekend. I left 6pm on Wednesday and drove through horizontal rain, through to the Hasst, even so, it was eery as dusk was pulling in, and the trees along that way, coooor was like the Tree scene in Lord of the rings, still had my guardian angel keeping a watch on me, and got there okay, booked into the Haast hostel, scrounged a tin of soup and woke up the next day, with my bike gear and boots on.....must have been knackered.

Thursday, the sun just shone in the Hasst, so plugged in my MP3 player again, (thanks to IDB for the recording) and rocked all the way there, ky legs were off those pegs and tapping along to some of the tunes, but IDB some of your music was just yurk..... and guess what? I got to 150kph,,,,,,,,,yee har and not even a change of knickers afterwards, then felt quite happy cruising along at 120 - 130, noticed the petrol not going as far tho:( Had my lunch, a la noodles on the beach and watched a couple of dolphins basking in the sea not too far away, awesome, 2nd time on that beach second sighting of Dolphins there......well cool.

Spent Thursday night in a wonderful cammpsite in Murchison, fed the ducks with my savoury rice, they nestled down and where still there with their alarm call to wake me up in the morning!!!!!and a frigging goose appeared as well........"If I could talk to the animals

I love the ride into Nelson, well twisty and getting to bend into them a bit more, although had a couple of heart flutters as well, when the corner ran out on one occasion!!!!!!!!!:shit:

The staircase into Nelson continues to spellbind me, felt like I had to untwist my body at the end of it.......

The entertainment was fantastic, espcially the Friday night in the tent, its all the better when its contained in a smaller place as everyone mixes more and chats and dances, the Christchurch possy and I got absolutely wankered and sat doing not a lot on Saturday with dark glasses on...

I do however although I agree the heavy rock bank on Saturday could have done with a couple of different tunes, as they were amusing enough when they were playing.....

And rashika, just to make you jealous, I spent 20 mins after the bodybuilding competition chatting weights, diets and drooling, whilst they cooled down wearing nothing but a towel no bigger than a flannel!!!!! god I loved watching that, my eyes were out on stalks chick!!!

Can we have them every rally please, after all there are more of us chicks going now, and the guys get the strippers, so why can we have some meat to look at eh:clap::2thumbsup.

Rode with my CC mates back to Hamner Springs, fuck its great to ride with a group, pushes your speed up a bit.....then rode onto Raikia for the night, and again passed out on a bed in a cabin waking up with my motorbike boots on.

Now for that fucking wind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Nearly got blown off my bike so many times, and in the end looked at the road through the gap in my speedo and rev counter, I was leaning down out of that frigging wind, and it sodding well stayed all the way to Queenstown, and thank you to wanky cromwell for the gail force winds which ensued all the way home,

All said and done though, what a fantastic weekend, Elvis btw was fantastic.....and the magic show was just magic, apart from the gormless chicks.

One more thing, why the chuffing heel, was a stripper allowed to enter the Wet T shirt competition, it should be for bikey chicks only.......:Oi:

Thats all for now folks, see you at the magpie,,,,,,and ho hum I now need a new rear tyre, only kinda worn out the middle though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:woohoo:

There was a magic show of all things. Will do a quick edit and see what becomes.
