Just wondered who here in NZ deals with suspension sales and revalving etc.

In the UK i ran 25mm WP cartridges on my CBR600RR's with a WP rear unit revalved to our requirements and have to say the feel/set up we managed to get from the bikes was superb and i'd use the WP kit again if someone here sells/maintains it?

So who is well known and reliable here?

Robert Taylor is "the man" when it comes to suspension, he sells/maintains ohlins though.

He can be found on here and will most likely post on your thread soon...

I'll take it on the chin, Gary. WP gear is imported/set-up etc by Ray Clee. His business is called RCM Performance. Located Henderson way in Auckland

As most know Ohlins being the major supplier of suspension to racers have alot more trackside support and stock.

If we had a Monopoly and only one choice of aftermarket suspension that would be bad for the consumer right?

Ray is a great guy, and will no doubt get anything in that anyone wants. I agree with choice, and commend Teambwr47 for wanting WP LOCALLY. As far as I know Ray works on a small scale with WP, probably not the stock, support etc of Ohlins in NZ. Anyone seeing a Ray Clee set-up bike would agree he knows what he's doing

There is no monopoly but as you will all agree ( perhaps in some cases begrudgingly ) only Ohlins offer a full and proper backup in NZ to the level it SHOULD be.

You will find the odd guy who can assist with changing springs, twirling a few clickers and perhaps adding a bit of fork oil, but nothing like the level that we provide at major race meetings with a service trailer and the ability to do internal revalves as neccessary. This is embellished by an increasingly large database of knowledge and experience, also being the only importer of motorcycle suspension related components that has a shock dyno. The knowledge this has provided has assisted considerably in winning many NZ road race championships over the years.

Add to that many overseas trips to Sweden to keep up with new developments.

The overall package we offer is not perfect ( nothing is! ) but I look around and dont see anyone else with the focus and committment to take it to the level we have. Sorry if it sounds like we are blowing our own trumpet ,but that is exactly how it is. I dont know what the environment is like in the UK now, but you will inevitably in this country encounter occassional tall poppy syndrome.

But anyway, welcome to NZ! We certainly need more people here from the UK.

If you are going to pursue the Triumph or other alternatives feel free to PM me. We have now sold a lot of the latest generation of Ohlins 25mm cartridge kits and have settings that are working very well on our low grip, bumpy tracks. There is an Ohlins listing in type 46PRXLS for the Trumpy, but I have looked at building the new type MotoGP derived TTX36 for one of these. The benefits being more sidegrip and corner speed, reflecting in your lap times. All 3 major NZ championship winning bikes last season used Ohlins components. This included our 600cc Sports Production winning R6 with Ohlins cartridges and TTX36 rear. This bike won most of the races and set several lap records.

Much of our success is because we are totally focused on suspension only and are prepared to change internal settings trackside to improve speed. After mid November we are going to lift the game to a higher level again.
