To be honest, with all the nasties that have happened in the past 12 months I'm not enjoying riding in New Zealand. I'm gonna concentrate on racing. Therefore the viffer is up for sale.

1986 VFR750
Colour: White
Mileage: 75K ish (if I recall).
Wof'd a couple of weeks ago. New fork seals, replaced shagged rear shock with one from Econohonda for the WOF, new battery too. The CDI unit was replaced last year and it's been fitted with a PC cooling fan to stop this common vfr prob happening again. The tyres are legal but are pretty squared off. The engine is fabulous, always starts and pulls to around 250. The gear driven V4 has to be heard to be appreciated.
Now the bad bit. The bike had a 5/10km lowside in February when some uninsured berk pulled out in front of me. Therefore the RHS brake lever is bent and the fairing has some cracks. You'd be looking at 3 or 4 hundy for plastic welding to put it right. The screen bracket and indicator need bent back into shape too (probably best to take off the fairings to do this which is why I've never bothered). Gutted as this bike had never been down the road in 20 years.

I'm after $1800 for her.

1988 FZR 400 racebike
Also for sale. I just can't "gel with it" as it's so differently setup from the CBR400. Team Cudby's old bike. In blue. Heaps of spares. I'd unregistered it. Good top end but runs roughly below 9K (flat spots), probably using the wrong pipe. Brakes are standard (crap) but handling very nice. I want $1200 for her which basically covers what she's cost me.
Spares for it are here

I will Pex for a Hyosung GTR 650 or possibly a large (physically large) tourer (TDM850, KLR650, DL650 etc).

Please note that I may regret this and be forced to buy a shiny bike by the missus when the weather gets better and I become a grumpy bastard.

I think you've underpriced the VFR.
I sold my '85 VF500 in 1999 for $1800, and it was nowhere as nice as the VFR, plus I have a friend (sometime KBer) who has one much rougher than that which he's looking at selling for at least $2k, just to get his money back.

I'd buy the VFR myself, iffen I was allowed another bike. That model is the lightest and sportiest of the VFRs, and much prized in the US.

Hi Vifferman, you're probably right but I've only done about 1000Km's on her since the whole Bruce & Darryl thing. She's not doing anyone any good in the garage. At the moment I can't be arsed with all the tyre kickers and stupid questions from Trademe.

I would! No money untill I sell my RG's though, and I'm giving a mate plenty of time to make up his mind whether he wants them or not before putting them on trademe

If the 750 isn't gone by then I'll have to give you a PM

It's cheap speed and unlike a Suzuki bits won't fall off it.

and its the famous VFR V4 - those things have to be heard to be believed - even the 400s sound like sex on wheels

im in the same boat as vifferman, if i was allowed more of a 'stable', i'd love to have one of those parked in it
