Kawasaki Genuine Accessories have released a few goodies to go with 1400 Concours

Had a quick look at a document that was sent to us at work yesterday and Kawasaki have started supplying extras for the Concours

1) Top boxes 2 sizes (39lt) & (26lt) (I think from memory)
Top box outer casing with integrated brake lights (colour matched etc)
2) Pannierbox liners/daypacks
3) High rise fairing blade (70mm taller)
4) Riding suits (Two piece, cordura etc) colour matched
5) Key ring (pewter, shaped like the bike)

Will check what prices were on Monday:yes: vaguely remember the top boxes start at $279, fairing blade roughly the same sort of price, & key ring was $14.95

Awesome. Thanks for posting this - shop wasn't really able to help me with top-box info. Well keep an eye out for the prices.

Thanks TWR i got a fax from AFC the other day, they knew i was going to be looking for a top box Heres the list

Pannier bags $199 each
Stelvio rider pants $325
Stelvio Touring jacket $350
1400GTR Key ring $12
Tank pad $95
GPS bracket no price listed
Comfort Gel seat $998
U lock $180
Top box 39 litre $365
Colour matched cover for top box $279
Protective film set $69
High screen (approx 70 mm higher $364

The seat is something i think i will purchase as soon as it is available as it is approx 30 mm lower than the standard seat which means for me my feet maybe able to sit flat on the ground when i come to a stop
The top box by the time you buy the colour cover is very expensive and in my opinion the protective film strip should be standard with the bike
GPS bracket is going to be a must for me at least, with a radar detector on it maybe my license may stay with me for a couple more months :innocent:

What about the key ring - cool man! Have sent an email to Givi to ask about mounting kit for my V46 topbox - it's bigger than the Kwaka one (and I've already paid for it).

Thinking about a radar detector too...:Punk:

PS: latest Two Wheels has Concours in it.

Dont need a key ring with these bikes so im not too sure why they brought out a key ring

Yea after the last ride i think a radar detector is a must

Make ya car/house keys look sexy?

You can tell I haven't been out on the bike enough yet - forgetting small details like that. Is it the weekend yet?

Checked out that site - topbox looks like it's a Givi anyway - pretty fugly though...

The Concours we sold came in for it's 1000km service today, the owner is as happy as a sandboy with it, though he says he hasn't come to grips with the handling yet  he's just been toodling around the district on it (
a few twists under the alps then plenty of straights anywhere else:slap:) and hasn't even stretched it's legs yet. And coming from a ZZR11 would be an adjustment in it's self
Reckons he might size up a seat for it though

Can confirm that they handle! Will be getting my 1st service next week. Big test will be the 1000 miler in Oct - pretty damn sure that it'll manage...

6th GC for me this year, already entered in next year's Mini's Return. Have done the Four points once but like Southern X better - it's the proper four points (goes to the mainland man!). Will probably do the 2009 Southern X to make 3 in the bag.

All good fun:2thumbsup

Hi banditrider, yeh some how they have lost my posting with the crash.

The cee bailey screens are exellent quality and the company is good to deal with. I bought a taller screen for my FJR 1300 from them, 2 inches taller and 3 inches wider with a flip top (coved out at the top) straight forward to fit no problems there. Was well packaged and arrived in five days. Total cost NZ dollars $352.00
The screen was thicker than the original, a really top quality product, with a small bottle of cleaner and cloths packaged with it.
Hope you are enjoying your new ride.
Cheers Rustys.

Gidday,
All the Kawasaki road bike stocking dealers in the country have a copy of the accessories brochure for the Concourse... (It's also veiwable electronically at the dealerships via Sprint 3)

A lot of the accessories are still waiting on "Type Approval" from K.H.I in Japan - word on the street is that most if not all will be in production by the end of this month

If you want genuine accessories, order them through your dealer - put simply the distributor won't bother ordering the stuff if there is no demand from you the riders

Makes sense to me...

Cheers

Just a question, as I have'nt looked inside a pannier of either the ZG or FJR, are they lined with anything or is it just hard plastic?
I have bought some Givi hard panniers for the FZ1 but I think they could do with lining with a softish grippy type of rubber or maybe felt.

Can get ya a good deal on one, especially if I decide to get one at the same time...sounds great. Far more rugged than any of the aftermarket alloy/carbon cans. The last one I had did over 35,000kms on my K2 Bandit, 12,000kms on my K6 and is still going strong on Mark's K6 (probably another 10,000kms). Looks good in stainless and is still lighter than the standard bazooka.

Hard plastic, but one generally puts a pair of jeans, socks, shirt and dacks (under) in there, amongst which one can generally distribute harder items (like spare dentures) so that they don't chatter or clank against the exoskeleton.

Got rung up to be told that my top box mount will not be here in time for the Mini's Return. Ordered in November...Aparently the Givi workers were out on strike! :angry2::bash::2guns::doh:

Not sure what this means for your Kawasaki (Givi too) topbox Meanie?

Gonna have a wee think about my options as I read on another Concours forum that people had modified other plates to fit. Only thing is Givi system looks like it is braced so may need the help of my friendly engineer.

Other options is to push importer to air fright at their cost - 4 months from ordering is a bloody ridiculously long time to wait...

I may have a closer look at Brians can and have a chat to the fella that made it

Yep, bike's going in tomorrow for the recall stuff & a service. Currently looking at topbox threads on concours.org...

Very new to the market, auto sparky back home showed me some couple months back,he said they were new then, tried the 2 crappy auto franchises and got blank looks like drongo parts people(read pimple faced f.wits)give when a question is in the too hard basket.Auto elctricians best bet.

Apparently the blurb on the pack said approx extra 25mtrs longer range, but brighter than normal bulbs and no extra voltage draw/hassles with burn out.

Meanie
24th August 2008, 10:12

I recently replaced my Givi SR410 (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/3862/) toplate and mounts (allows mounting of Givi boxes) with a rack from Phil's Farkles (http://www.philsfarkels.com/). The new mount is very FMS and i got it here for about $210. Someone with a laser cutter could probably knock one up too but if anyone is interested in my SR410 then let me know - it wouldn't take much money for it to head your way...
