View Full Version : Binned the KTM

Got my bum high sided yesterday after what had been a awesome ride through parts of the Coromandel.
Rear tyre hit a bit of diesel(cheers The Stranger for checking that) and the bike stepped out and biffed me over the top before I knew anything had happened.
Fortunately I always wear good riding gear which saved my bones this time.
The Superduke isn't too bad considering it went down the road at 90-ish kmph and I've just got some heavy bruising.
Shit happens at anytime...good gear is essential!

So quick, so vulnerable, so pointless, so much a piss-off.
I feel for you Chris, did anyone get to see it from start to finish? My greatest regret is not having anyone to tell me what happened and not getting any style-points.

LOL! Sorry Grub but alas no there were no motorcycling witnesses to said event to give me a score on style! I did give myself a solid 9/10 though. :sunny:
However I'm very grateful to the 4 car loads of people that stopped to check me out. They were more than a little surprised when I got up,took my helmet off to reveal a big arsed cheesie smile...I mean fark...I survived being flung on to the oncoming lane.

So she went down, down to Tangie Town.

What a bummer :( You were riding so well that day as well but you can't do bugger all when you hit unseen diesel.
Poor old Duke.
Yep, good gear, you gotta have it. Ending up in the oncoming lane is a real worry but like me last year, you got up and walked away still in one piece.
Real lucky of course as it would be a different story if a car was coming the other way at the same time.
Heal quick mate, hope the Duke is easily fixed.
