Hi,
First post. Pretty recent to riding road bikes, up until about 4 months ago was commuting to Wellington from Pram every day via Train, this got real boring real fast. Finally had a great excuse to buy a motorbike. I first purchased an 89 Kawasaki ZXR from trade me but on my first ride after buying it the water pump blew and the clutch started slipping. The bike spent a good 2 months at mechanic while I tried to get my money back from the dude I bought the bike from..... Any way, I fixed the bike and sold it myself for a loss.
While the ZXR was in the shop I had already purchased my GPX which is a fantastic little bike, very comfortable to ride. Great bike to ride into Wellington everyday.
Have been very keen to get out there on a good road trip with a few other bikers.
Have attached a pic of the 2 bikes

We have a couple of "cruisy" rides as regular calendar events where you just turn up and the team decides where to go. So ...
Until daylight saving begins it's the Sunday Morning Rides. When daylight saving kicks in, the Sunday rides will probably stop and the Wednesday evening ones take over.

Joehannaa, welcome to the site. I'll keep an eye out for you. I normally leave Pram around 7 - 7.15 ish. I often meet Babelfish so you might see a couple of black bikes together on the way through.

Paekok hill rocks, i never go to wellington on the bike and not go over that road, faster if the traffic is dense and a hell of a lot more fun

Gotta agree with that. :niceone: I took a trip over the paekakariki hill and back today (first time by myself) as I just couldn't let the nice day go to waste and it was fanstastic! Except of course for the several times I came across people who thought 1 lane wasn't quite enough for them. I have been prewarned about that road though so I made an effort to hug the hill on the way up.
Interestingly enough, every one of them was driving either a Holden V8 sports type car or a ute. Wonder if there's something in that...
