hey there having an issue with my hyosung gt250 at the moment and seeking a solution or input please.
The symptoms:
when riding at 50kmph in 3rd gear at 4,700-4,900, every now
and then the revs drop down to 2,500-2,700 and engine loses power.
It is quickly regained after 3-5 secs but is quite rough and "jerky" until back at usual rev range. Have taken bike through 100km area and simalar thing happens but not as extreme just loss of power and jerkyness.
I have however recently installed a new clutch cable and after much adjustment got it just right, I dont think this is the problem but im definitely open to suggestions or ideas.
Any help greatly appreciated

Phaedrus had some kind of similar power-loss in his one - PM him and see what it was.

dont quite understand your description but
the side stand switch is KNOWN to give problems, when it thinks the sidestand is down it cuts the engine; usually around 9000rpm
try disabling the sidestand switch perhaps??
that or CDI issues??
those two are the most known/observed issues on a hyo

Those are the only two factory issues I know of from these, stand and CDI.

Just bumped into my old thread, if anyone was having a simalar issue with power loss on a hyobags it may well be either one of the plugs or in my case one of the coils. would be cruising a 7,000 @ 100km suddenly its @ 3,500 at 100km.... I replaced both plugs with NGK's and the coils, has been sweet since first post.

I had a similar issue - in 3rd between 5000-6000rpm I would hit a flat spot. It didnt drop revs however. It went away after removing the brown/blue? wire from the CDI unit, some sort of emmision control thing.
Do you also have this problem?

Buy a Japanese bike....... or since you're obviously slightly masochistic from this purchase buy an old Ducati?

We've got one at work presently with same sort of issues loosing power at particular rpms roughly after 20 odd kms of travel at open road speed.
It's a fuelling issue, or in the instance of the bike in our care. one of the diaphragms in the fuel system was installed wrongly and was causing a pressurisation of the system forcing fuel through breathers where it shouldn't be and not where it should be going:wacko:
If the this happened and the bike was brought to a stop & turned off for a few minutes then restarted and returned to riding then it's be fine for a few more kms then it'd do the same thing again.
Most of the fuel delivery system has been checked or replaced on this bike and the issue seems to have been remedied. I didn't work on the bike myself so don't know exactly was replaced but can findout.
It is a factory fault but because this issue happens to only a minimal number of the GT250/Rs the factory is refusing to do a recall but are replacing parts under warranty if the bikes are still covered. The bike mentioned above is brand new with less than 1000kms on it and the issue appeared within the first 100kms

Same with mine when I first got it -
Mechanics replaced side stand switch and replaced cdi with a new one. Good as gold. Not a problem since
Take it back to the dealer you got it off and it's covered under warranty
