I'm no trainspotter, but that is pretty cool. I hope he gets a good price for all the work he has put in.

Sadly my old man may be selling his in the near future - at 81 years he's not so good in getting up into the attic anymore, his layout would be 6metres by 3metres, all good quality stuff.
He'd carted it in suitcases all over the world saying he's set it up when he retired, he did that but has not had the joy out of it had he set it up earlier.

Taught me a lesson on life that did - do it now before it's too late.:yes:

Hmmm...brings back memories. I've got one of those half built in my attic. I used to LOVE model trains but then I got to lazy to finish the scenery. DOH!

Sold all my NZR stuff just before I moved over here - wish I hadn't now.....Sn31/2 scale. Always liked the idea of N scale - you can cram so much more into the space....

If the engines and carriages etc are the older hornby etc sell them on ebay, trademe will only fetch a quarter of what they are worth.
End of last year I sold some of my late fathers train stuff on there, the engines where fetching $300-600 US each (they werent mint), one went to oz, one to england and another to the states
To think I was going to sell them all to a train dealer for $250 (including tracks) but he was to lazy to look at them

Ahhh... that brings back memories... my misses wont let me have a model railway (mostly coz she says its too nerdy), but I am thinking of putting a wee n-scale loop around the outside of my office computer monitor
