anyone with ideas for a front end or what fits, im thinking some upside-downs would look good and help stop the bit of tank slapping i get sometimes, anyone done this or know people who have .
throw me your ideas please...

Hi

You could fit early GSXR750 upside downs without too much hassel as Suzuki used the same steering head bearings on many models from the GS days through to the bandit.
Also other makes may well have at least one s/bearing the same but don't forget the rim, mudguard and calipers may need mods so a whole front end could save dramas.
But you may well have to change the springs - and if you want better dampening a revalve too.

Save cash and keep your bike looking original and get emulators.

Do you have a steering dampner?
Are your steering head brgs okay and the right preload on them?

I was thinking along the lines of complete front end ,i had read somewhere that 90-91 end would fit so wanted to check this out ,dont want to change anything as want to be able to put original parts back on later if wanted

not original ,black frame engine ,orange-red bodywork striped down abit looks more like a gs1200ss its a bit tatty and been off the road for about a month trying to get ideas needs a full do up soon

I think you will find the head bearings are the same with will help you a lot.
Nearly all the big Suzuki's - even my old RG500 had the same up till
the mid ninties.
You may find like I did that the handle bars hit things like the dash or the fairing. I got steve at F1 to supply R1 bars that helped mine and I moved the dash.

I love the old slap side 750's!
There was one at the kiwi a few years back that's owner started up and held it on the revlimiter untill the exhaust glowed red to the collector. Me and the lads were most impressed.

has a different sound to the new bikes too, ive been through a few bikes old and new and its one of my favs not as forgiving as the new bikes but makes for a rewarding and exciting ride as you really have to work it.by the way i cut the big slabs off looks much better and you may be right steering dampner may be the way too

How much do you like fairings? Cos in my eyes they make some of the best fighters!!!! MotoX bars would stop the slaps :)
