im thinking of getting myself a trials bike in the next few months.
i was just wondering what you guys think a good bike for a beginner would be.
my girlfriends dad has a honda tlm200 that is never used which i can use, but id like to get my own. i was wanting to spend probably $2500 or less, can you get a good one for that much money? i dont really know what to look for. i heard tlm's are supposed to be good for starting out on, but i think it would be better to have a newer one that isnt so heavy.
what are the pros/cons of 2stroke vs 4stroke in a trials bike?
does it matter how heavy/tall etc i am as to what bike to choose?

what sort of gear would i need? is there a good shop in nz (auckland would be best) that supplies lots of trials stuff?

is there any stuff for trials bikes to muck around on at woodhill or near west auckland?

so many questions  :zzzz:

cheers for any help
dave

Go to one of the greg power's run woodhill events. i think the next one is on the 2nd september. They have bikes ( hondas) you can try out on one of the small course betwee ~11;0am and 14:00. look up power adventures website for directions. Or go on www.silver-bullet.co.nz website to see when there events are on.

My brother has one of the new Scorpia bike, Very nice, but it has some silly design things on it. TO change the oil its a bit of a mission. One thing with the Honda TLM, never try to crash start it. My brother did that and it snapped the keyway off the flywheel.
