Hey mate, that's an awesome buzz isn't it? He'll be leaving home before you know it. That's pretty much what my sister said to me when my daughters were born. They're now 17 and 15 and it's an awesome journey, all the best.

Who put that smile on his face? Not the parents, surely?

Congrats on getting him this far, it is supposed to get easier for a little while now, then the teenage thing kicks in.... enjoy the time for you.

The years roll by incredibly quickly! Enjoy the time you have together.
I can well remember hXc's first day of school..he wouldn't kiss me goodbye because he was a "big schoolboy now". He is now 16 and planning a trip to Belgium for a year...will be gone in less than 12 months....my baby, all grown up and leaving home!:crybaby:
Still doesn't kiss me goodbye .....

My baby (youngest of 3) will be turning 16 soon! The day she started school, I walked out to drive the kids to school. I'm catching the bus with the big kids was her response. So I drove to the school and waited for the bus to arrive to take her into her class. At 2pm I went to collect her, as we were walking out she wanted to know why she could not catch the bus home with the big kids!

Next day, repeat the drive to school to wait for the bus, talk to the teacher and Hannah stays at school all day, and catches the bus both ways

Very traumatic LOL for me!!

Mate, we share 4 girls between us, 20, 17, 15 and 10. Far to scarey to contemplate really. Sensible kids the lot of them, though to be fair they have given some "moments" from time to time. Mark is a wise man  he blows me away with his ability to talk to his girls, he does not have a gun.......thank goodness

sounds like he's settling in real good.

i remember my first day, no hang on it mite have been the second day after i had found out it wasn't what it cracked up to be.

mum stops outside the front gate and tells me to hop out, i simply refuse. mum starts getting upset (dont know why i just wanted to stay with her at home), she gets the principal to come and help. i start locking doors, he opens one i jump into the front and the games begin, man i love musical chairs. took them a good 5 minutes.

Cheers mbazza!! :Punk: When my oldest was 5, they were doing an 'outdoor actvities' project at school.. so I took our tent down & set it up, & all the kids had a turn at sitting inside! Mr said 5 year old took great pride in telling his class "all about going on the motorbike to bike rallies with mum & sleeping in the tent" he was soooo cute!! (yes, he had just turned 5 the first time he came on the bike, to a rally!!!) & he was 6 when he learnt to ride a wee bike by himself!! :scooter: I would absolutely LOVE to get them both bikes so we can all go tickey touring down the river etc!!! :2thumbsup

So, yes  if the opportunity arises, I will definately take the bike to school.. for "show & tell time".. :niceone:

Hehe looks like he's enjoying himself ... and is he eating the packed lunches you make for him? I remember my mum making my brother and I, excellent lunches! She would sometimes give us money so we could buy a fruit/jelly/custard pie every now and then :woohoo:

Next thing you know, you'll be carting him off to sports games and washing muddy uniforms :msn-wink:
