KB Birthday bash!!!! [Archive]

Well guys on the 21st of October this year KB turns 5… :Punk:

And what better excuse for a big birthday bash. Spankme and I were talking and we think, that 3 events on the same day, same time across the country would be stunning… so that the entire KB can celebrate together. :spudguita:spudbooge

So we will be doing it in 3 locations… Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. The tricky part will be deciding which bash to attend, as everyone will be welcome at any of them… what a great excuse to jump on your bikes and meet another regions KB’ers :yes:

When: Saturday 27 October
Time: 8pm’ish onwards
Why: To party till we drop and celebrate this great website!

Welli - Thanks to the lovely Mrs Kendog, the lounge is booked at the Southern Cross! Have fun guys.

Auck – I have spoken to the venue and all is confirmed, it will just be an informal get together in the bar area… drinks, snacks etc as you guys see fit. Yay!

Chch – All is confirmed as well. They have said if its not too busy they will organise a table for us, but at this stage its at the bar or outside. I’m hoping is a nice warm evening and we can be outside… that would be good!

Is anyone from wellington able to put up me and motogirl for a night (we have a van, with track bike)since we will be at manfield on the 27th for the suzuki track day, so be easier for his to go to wellington than get back to auckland?

I was wondering if we should do the "Wellington" one at the bikers bar in Woodville (or other suitably central location) so that Hawkes BAy, Wairarapa, Manawatu, Horowhenua, Wanganui and maybe the 'naki could all join in. We could make a weekend or sunday ride out of it.

Thats the thing Grub... lots of people had diffenret ideas about where and when it should be... I made the call on something central, as many Welli KB'ers are active and may not be able to travel... you will never be able to please everyone.

I think maybe a venue out of Welli, like Tauranga, Hawkes Bayish... might be an option.

But Im comfortable with central Welli!

I agree. Half the point of these bashes is to put yourself out of your comfort zone and meet new people. Cajun and I will go to the Wellington event purely to meet some new folks.

Yeah c'mon people! Just do it! I wish I lived further away so I could ride there longer! I'm sure there will be plenty of long way 'round's! Far west via North, Hibiscus coast then a crew to the bar style.

And to the complainers, if your drinking a hostel bed is cheap in comparison. That is if your too scared to ask another KB'er for a patch of floor but crashing at someones place you don't know is how I've met some of my best friends around the country. DO IT!

Sounds like a good plan. How about if you're riding to another city from one of the cities ie. you live in Auckland and are going to the Welly one, maybe people could do a house swap, solves accommodation probs and you get your house and pets looked after too. Just a thought.

Okay, some of the "Otago Elite" have been having discussions about whether to have our own party, or to hit Christchurch in large numbers. The general consensus is - Christchurch.

Who's going, and by what route, is still to be confirmed. Some are keen to take a slight detour via the West Coast.

Anyway, expect a contingent from Otago - we'll confirm numbers later.

actually no... last weekend was the first for about 3 months, and with all the rallies & racing coming up, theres plenty of other places we will be going before the 27th oct.

It is a nice wee jaunt if you just want a quick fix of all the best bits the canterbury has to offer in a short time frame, and will be nice for any who want to pop down to the chch Kb meet. :rockon:

However, I will be riding from Manfield mid afternoon, and don't know Wellie that well at all...

so, is there any way I could ask for a bit of a guide and also for a bit of carpet to crash onto after the party. Pretty please, with sugar and strawberries on top ? :D

Aww, cheers babe! No disrespect meant Skunk, but somehow I feel like I know the Kendogs better, having shared the odd "butt jokes" with them in past threads (ahem :whistle:...:laugh:).

Oh and btw, I don't need a bed or anything. I got my own inflatable matress and sleeping bag, so quite happy to rough it on the ground :blip::dodge:

OK, for the people attending the Chch bash!

Spank and a few others have mentioned they would like to have a meal as well... I have spoken to the venue and for that amount of people we would need a set menu because they cant do ala cart for such a large amount of people.

They suggested we either just enjoy ourselves in the bar or if its a nice night we can sit outside. If we do it that either of these 2 ways, anyone can order from the menu or we can order $50.00 group platters (either hot or cold ones).

So unless I have a set amount of people saying they want a table etc... I feel the bar or outside is our best bet at this stage!

The food is good there, but seeing as there will be a few people coming and going just ordering whatever you want from the bar is prob the best way to go. The venue thought it would be best if we booked the lounge for the bash, to ensure we had space for everyone... so make your way through to the lounge at the Southern Cross around 8pm...

But we are not that far from town that a taxi becomes too expensive. So drink up I say :2thumbsup (with some moderation given your return ride home the next day)

Well I'm still not sure if I'm allowed to mix booze with drugs, so I may end up being the sober driver yet. (anyhow, most of the people here still think I'm a half decent person, wouldn't want them to change their minds by seeing me peessed!!)

Welli - Thanks to the lovely Mrs Kendog, the lounge is booked at the Southern Cross! Have fun guys.

Auck – I have spoken to the venue and all is confirmed, it will just be an informal get together in the bar area… drinks, snacks etc as you guys see fit. Yay!

Chch – All is confirmed as well. They have said if its not too busy they will organise a table for us, but at this stage its at the bar or outside. I’m hoping is a nice warm evening and we can be outside… that would be good!
