Hi
I was searching google for 0800 MOPEDS which is one of my companies and I saw reference to it in a thread here so I thought some background might be useful.

From 64 Dixon Street Wellington I now run a moped and motorcycle hire business. To call about mopeds the number is 0800 MOPEDS and for motorcycles 0800 2 WHEELS. For bikes I am hiring out Hyosung 250cc comets and cruisers.
You can hire for a day or longer. They can be hired for pleasure or to sit licence requirements. I also have 2 Kawasakis - one is a KLE 500 which allows some offroad riding.
Will add more types of bikes to match the demand. I am likely to start Harleys in by October though maybe their smallest size at first.

I know nothing about bike servicing so the local dealerships do that for me.
I am building a website that will be up and running soon.

have just started an advertising campaign including backing the weatherangels. (Their site at www.weatherangels.co.nz puts a new spin on the weather)

Will post in a the scooter thread some info for moped fans. I even have Vespas despite the japanese mopeds being much cheaper and more reliable but style has its price I suppose.

Happy to answer any questions. Thanks to the organiser of this site as it seems to be well set out and moderated.

Hi Frank

Best of luck on your new business venture. I'm starting a Triumph rental business from Christchurch on 1st Sept www.rentatriumph.co.nz . It's taken 4 months to get licenses and many other things organised but kick off is almost here. My bikes have all been run and the rental books are being printed now in preperation. When you get you web site up and running give me an email as we could link of each others sites.

Hi
Thanks for the messages of support. Good luck tyo you all espeiclly the Triumph company starting in CHCH. Yes we pleased to have links to each other once my site is built. The more we can all increase the size of the hire market, the more riders there will be, the more new purchases and around it goes again so everyone in the industry benefits.

I have been sponsoring various things and starting normal advertising but to hit the 16-30 yo male part of the market I have sponsored the weather angels. This is a tongue in cheek site that pokes fun at the staid weather presenters we have. It's deliberately got a home made feel, is clever and is naughty rather than sleazy. You could show it to your mother (perhaps). It is going to be the next big thing

the link is www.weatherangels.co.nz

be brave have a look

Hi
A while ago I responded to a post where someone mentioned i was up and running and asked what i had available . So if useful to any/all here is an update.

my hire shop at 64 dixon street wellington which only had 250cc hyosungs in it now has a kawasaki kle 500 and 2 brand new kawasaki 650 enduros.

more bikes will be added as I determine the levels of demand.

at present as a limited time introductory offer to get throughput in my business as it starts you can hire these bikes for $89 per day. Unlike other hire places you do not have to hire for a minimum of 3 days and if you are an experienced rider there is no additional insurance costs. Now that is a deal.

have also started doing weekday commuter hires where someone needs a bike to get to and from work while they are between bikes for some reason. if they can give me back the bike for the weekend i can do very good rates.

:whocares:
Thats is enough advertising on what is a chat forum so i do apologise.

Hope it is a long, hot and windless summer for us all :woohoo:
