What is the best way to deal with polished and lacquered aluminium that has got a bit worse for wear? Any recommendations for getting looking like new?

Sadly once you have laquer on the alloy and it gets scratched or goes yellow the only thing is to strip the laquer and start again (polish and re-laquer)
