Just wondering if any one knows if you can get rubbish bags that get collected? I know they do in Whangaparaoa etc but I went on the council website and it didn't say anything about it.
I am moving and have a lot of rubbish every where and don't really want to have to go to the tip, and our bin is full!
Thanks in advance

I don't think so.
We used to step out at night and go up and down the street stuffing all the other wheely bins full to the brim with rubbish. Get someone heavy, put shoes on and have them squash down the rubbish. Top the bin up with yours, then move onto the next bin.
Worked a treat for us and over 2 or 3 weeks we cleared out TONS of stuff.

You could always check when the next inorganic is scheduled for in your area, and see if you can make it, or one of your friendly neighbour may be able to keep your junk til then?

Waitakere city have rubbish bags you can buy which get picked up by the local council. We bought a bunch of them, stuff them to the brim, then dropped them outside a friend's house in Titirangi.Job done. However, how much stuff do you have? Is it worth simply hiring a 3 cubic metre skip and getting them to take it away one full: about $80 from memory.

Is there any other way?
Step 1: Pack up your rubbish in as many black plastic sacks as you need.
Step 2: Leave all he bags at the side of the road on a monday morning before 7:00am
Step 3: Bags gone by 8:00am
So I can assume this service doesn't cover all of Auckland then? That explains why real estate on the North Shore is so cheap

Just wondering...
Metrowaste do paid wheelie bins anywhere within the greater Auckland area, about $20/month for a 240 liter bin with weekly pickup.
If it's just a once-off clearout that you're after then your best option really is to grab a trailer and head to a refuse transfer station. The one in Henderson (on The Concourse at the east end of Lincoln Rd) is probably closest for you.

Inorganic was a few months ago!
It isn't huge stuff I need to chuck out, just paper and crap I have hoarded for the last few months that I don't want to move with me.
If worst comes to worst I will get Rodney bags and take it up with me to be collected up there.Just don't really want to drive round with a car full of rubbish! I just cleaned my car out!!

To drag up an old thread... our bin wasn't collected this week, living in a flat it is a pain not having it collected cause then there are bags everywhere with rubbish, ew!
So, can I put those black bags outside my house next collection day and they get collected with my bin?

you have to buy stickers for the black bags.

They wont touch them.
Shore and west use pre-paid bags.
Shore ones are bright orange and about $1.60 each
West ones are grey and about $1.20 each

Remove anything in your rubbish that has your details on it. Then take all your remaining rubbish (including a few poohs) and place it on the steps of the ARC offices. Simple.
