Just for interest sake I did 320 miles driving from Ft Lauderdale to Key West and back via other bits today and a few comparisons spring to mind. Whilst they (the Yanks) drive swiftly, they are courteous and cheerful and the whole thing goes pretty well. drove around Miami and some of it was at peak time and that went well too and I didn't get tailgated once and even when I fucked up, I was tolerated. Saw lots of bikes as well and very few helmets. The temp was 96F and all of the riders were in shorts and sunnies. It looked sort of normal on the harleys but looked a bit dorky with the Sprot bikes seeing a guy perched up there damn near in the raw. And you don't realise the funny angle peoples heads are at when the have no helmet. Harleys were the majority. Got talking to a bike cop on his (scumdog!) really nice looking Harley police bike. I reckon he hasn't got a bad job for this part of the world. Clearly the natives here are not as worried about the protective gear as Kiwis, but it is as hot as hades though they do drive/ride in a much more orderly fashion. The police presence was fairly high with odd names like 'troopers', 'sherrifs and ' beach police', who knows..? I noticed a lot of the speed limit signs having an upper and a lower limit. Not a bad Idea really.

Nice one mate - maybe you should take a Hog out for a blat while you are there!

If you do, make sure you send Scumdog the piccies - that would cement a lifetime supply of Hare Casserole!

Should also say.. "FARK thats a long bridge!" :)
